Posted under "Nobody will get tired of hearing this story."  But I read that in the spokesman yesterday, was glad the WDFW officer let his friend tag the second one.  Screw killing two birds with one stone.. This dude has everyone beat:)

I didn't get how he hit the second one.  I love doing my own little detective work if my eye didn't see the shot happen.  This was a great story all around. For the honesty of the hunters and the good heart of the game warden.  That is how is should have been and I think it was because of how the hunters handled it.  A unique situation and an awesome story!!!!  Loved it.

So, are you guys fine with this scenario because it was only evil cougars?  Or would you also be fine with it, if it were say, an elk, or bighorn sheep?

The shooter did not make certain what was behind/beyond his target, and hit a secondary not intended target.  What if it would have been his hunting partner or another human instead of just a worthless evil cougar?

I understand how the mistake can happen... but it is still a mistake and unacceptable.  Sure, the hunter did the right thing turning himself in, but that is what he should have done!

I hope the enforcement officer who exercised discretion here, exercises it again and doesn't use this "awesome", "cool" story as an example in a hunter education class that there are no consequences for shooting a weapon and hitting an unintended target.

Provider, come on man.  Accidents happen.  And when two cats get killed with one shot, that is a happy accident.

The shooter couldn't help it if the second cat jumped in behind the other one as he released his arrow.  Can't you be happy for him?
