Title: "Naughty Dog" What your dog has done.
Post by: steen on September 17, 2013, 05:51:42 PM
Our dog has done a few, here are two:  Larry had just wrapped 70 lbs. of sausage and a friend thought she looked a little guilty coming out of the garden ( that is guilt enough).  Upon investigation she had snuck in the butcher room (which they left open) and proceeded to bury her cash of awesome already wrapped sausage for herself. The most recent was when my husband came home from a visit to friends in Alaska with two buffalo heads (that they raise) and one was bleached, mature cow, finished and the other, at young bull, not quite done.  Ruby had taken both horns off the young bull without moving the head (in the upright position on a chair) and more than likely buried them also.  Hubby was not impressed.

This could be a great thread!

My current lab- let's see- nothing out of the ordinary off the top of my head:

1. Dug up every plant/bush in the yard he could get at. Ate most of them. Including a gravenstein apple tree about 3 inches in diameter.
2. Ate antlers off a deer I had hanging. Just antlers :dunno:
3. Ate part of the house siding
4. Ate several basketballs/footballs the kids left where he could get at 'em
Now that he's 4 years old he finally seems to be slowing down on the shenanigans.

One of the funniest things I've seen was when a friend's lab grabbed half a broiler chicken off the grill. He yelled at it and the dog quickly swallowed the whole half-chicken in one unchewed gulp. That had to hurt going down.

My new pup ate her entire 179.00 dog house while I was turkey hunting.

Ate the crouch out of three pairs of my wife's underwear.

Chewed up my wife's new shoes.

Our dog Loki ate three pairs of my wife's shoes, only hers.   :chuckle:

Our new "pup" Amber likes to take napkins and paper towels out to the yard to eat them.  She also likes to chew off plants in pots.

I guess I have a somewhat good dog. The only thing that he has done (almost 2 year old Chocolate Lab) was chewed a little bit of base molding and tried to chew on the hardwood floors...

My old dog Kodi was half lab and half Chesapeake  140 pounds.  I was driving From Astoria over to Eastern Oregon to hunt deer and Grouse.  Some where just past Woodland Kodi starts to get restless and make noise like he needs to go out side.  I know I'm not far from the rest area near Battle Ground so I decide to wait until we get there to let him out.  Now I'm in a Toyota SR 5 single cab pickup, I'm one mile from the rest stop when Kodi kind of goes slack jawed on me and starts leaning into me while I'm driving down the road and he starts to lift his tail.  I'm yelling at him and he turns his head and starts pointing his rear at me.  I'm trying to push him down onto the floor boards weaving back and forth on the road when he starts SHEETING, it is like a fire hose shooting up my arm hitting me all over, and he keeps turning and it is now spraying all over the inside of my windshield. I pull into the rest stop, jump out screaming and yelling, Kodi jumps out plants his rear on the ground and starts scooting across the parking lot leaving a brown streak from my truck to the grass, Truckers and people are looking at me and I don't know if they  realized what I was covered in, or if they started to smell it, but some started laughing and others turned away.  It took me an hour to clean up and clean out the front of my truck.  I learned a lesson that day, when that dog needs to go, no matter where you are you had better let him out.

Oh dear, this could be dangerous and a seriously funny thread.  Song Dog, that takes the cake!!

Our Coonhound has by far done the most "naughty" things.  Her biggies:

*  Stole a huge roast off the kitchen counter while it was "resting" before serving it for CHRISTMAS dinner...
*  Ate a dozen dark chocolate truffles without any side affects.  I ate one and it made my heart race & had to lay down!  The vet was  :dunno: on that one.
*  Ate entire Costco sized bottle of Vitamin B.  That prompted a call to the pet poison hotline.  No problems on her end though.  Again, the vet was  :dunno: on that one.
*  Ate an entire Costco size jar of Vaseline...she licked the container so clean, there wasn't a spec of grease left anywhere.  She still wanted her dinner after which was mind boggling.
*  Ate the shingles off her first dog house.  The ones we had to special order to match our house...
*  Ate an entire can of baby formula

Our Mini Aussie is no angel either.  His notables:

*  Ate a brand new $400 Arc'teryx jacket.  Literally left it in shreds.  Why did he have to choose the most expensive thing in my closet??  Still ticked about that one.
*  Peed on Christmas presents under the tree while looking right as us.
*  Eaten so many pairs of underwear - I have lost count.  The ladies at Macy's see me coming and know the dog wiped out my inventory.

So far our Lab puppy hasn't done anything unexpected and we are working hard to keep it that way.   ;)

My best bad dog story was the time Nono my mild mannered polite 34" tall Borzoi (russian wolfhound) decided to eat an entire bone in ham and as if that wasnt bad enough she washed it down with my margarita.....I never left food to cool on the counter without making sure I knew exactly where she was and took her with me if I had to step outside even for a minute......man I miss that naughty dog.

oh yeah she dug under the barn gate so she could sleep in the barn which would have been fine except it allowed the damn goat to get out followed by lambs whose mama's got pissed when they couldn't follow...

Had a dog that like to roll in dead fish.
Then a different dog that ate an almost liquefied dead fish it found at the boat ramp.  Later on the dog got explosive diarrhea and vomiting.  It would explode in the house and then get put outside.  the dog would act fine and as soon as it was let back inside another explosion.
A different dog at a BBQ went and rolled in poison oak.  Then it came back and would rub past people and get it on their legs.

This is pretty old and Skipper is gone now. When I was stationed in Montana, one evening on my way to work the wife asked me to call in the morning before I left top site and get her up. Said to be sure she stayed up. Well I called and she answered the phone but when she was done she ran back the the bedroom and took a leap back into bed. While she was gone, Skipper got off my pillow and took a leak on her's and she landed in it! She stayed up!

With Bodie, I was at a friend's house and left Bodie and Squirt in the car while I went in for a bit. Came back out and Bodie had eaten my cell phone.

Had one of my old pointer's, Otis, with me one time down in Utah. Taking an RV trailer to Flagstaff. Had to stop and clean it on the way. Got near and stopped to wash the thing in a car wash. Took my wrapped sandwich and hid it under the driver seat. Took less than two minute's to wash off the trailer. Got back in and the wrapper to my sandwich was on the seat. Otis claimed he didn't know anything about it!

Our golden retriever Morgan ate an entire bag of snickers halloween candy (wrappers and all). And then spent the next 2 days crapping the wrappers back out. It was gross and hilarious at the same time.

A friend's chocolate lab would go ice fishing with him in MN.  When he would catch a walleye, he, and most others, would throw it on the ice outside of his shelter.  His dog was in and out during the day which was usual and he didn't think much of it.  As he was getting ready to leave he left his shelter in time to see his dog returning from outside someone else's shelter with a fish in its mouth.  He looked down and his three or four fish had doubled in the pile outside his door.   :chuckle:

A GSP we had when I was a kid ate an entire five pound stick of sausage off the counter.

You know how much time is involved with making beef jerky, well I just got done pulling all the finished jerky off the racks, put the meat in a bowl on the shelf. Had to use the bathroom, by the time I got back to the kitchen, the *censored* head ate the whole bowl!! I could have killed him!

my golden lab(rip Abby) hated my wife's garden hoses, destroyed them at every opportunity. came home one time to find the dog tied up with hose & stuffed into her house. during a break from yard work I was sitting in a chair & set my beer down on the ground at my feet, she snuck in under the chair, took the top of the can in her mouth, tilted her head back & guzzled it down. was my last one.
would climb out of the pen & cruise the neighbor hood at night. once brought me a brand new pair of tennis shoes, my size!! brought home a packaged whole chicken & didn't even puncture the wrapping. someone evidently left it out to thaw.? we finished thawing & had a BBQ.
I went deer hunting one year & came home empty handed & disappointed. got up the next morning to go feed the dog & found a forky skull plate at the back door.
man I loved that dog. don't know where she came up with this stuff but none of my neighbors were missing anything when asked & they all loved her.
the only thing the 2 we have now have done was get into a cooler after a elk hunt. the only thing they took was the liver & a package of salad.

Oh yeah, forgot about the time I had gutted a deer into a tote to haul it off later.  We werre sitting around after dinner watching TV and Loki starts doing the "I'm gonna barf boogie".  As she is shuddering, I grab a tote lid and slide it under her head just in time to catch... a lung!   :yike:  She had swallowed one of the lungs whole from outside, bleh.

SO this was not my dog and just a story and pictures but thought it was crazy and bad at the same time. A member on ifish posted that he takes his wiener dog fishing with him. Well one day he brings his cut plug herring into the boat and drops it down on the floor of the boat. It had a 2/0 and 1/0 trailer in it. as soon as it hit the deck the said wiener dog decided it would make for a tasty treat and woofed it down before he could do anything about it. I remember the x ray pics they were pretty crazy. Just thought I would share.

Most of mine have never really done to many bad things.

Today our Coonhound jumped in the UPS truck and sat down in the passenger seat.   She sulked all the way to the door when I made her get out of the truck.

Guess she had her heart set on a career change.

I can't think of anything really bad that my male AE Coon Hound has done.  He likes to get into the trash can every now and then.

He has a thing for my underwear.  About 6 months after I got him I started finding my underwear throughout the house.  He'd bring a pair into the living room or I'd find a pair in the kitchen on the floor.  After about a year and a half I thought he had quit.  Then my underwear started disappearing.  Sometimes when we do laundry we would leave it in the laundry basket for a few days before we got around to folding it.  I was down to like 2 or 3 pair.  One day went in and got the sleeping bag that he claimed and slept in to wash it and found like 10 or 12 pair of my underwear in his sleeping bag.  :yike:

While I was deployed, one of my dogs decided she was going to start counter surfing and stealing food off of plates when the wife was not around.  The dog also decided she was going to start taking off for "adventures" for several hours on end.  I have since fixed the hot fence and busted her stealing food twice (she was wearing the e-collar in the house.  :yike:  )

I think my Yellow Labs is genetically related somehow to the Chesapeake breed because he is extremely stubborn and highly intelligent. Most dogs love to get attention in the form of petting; not mine and that is only important to him when he is in the duck blind and soaking wet and muddy. He can't seem to hear me call sometimes but if he is out of the blind, he can hear me open a Ziploc bag of goodies at a mile. Spring is his favorite time of year since he eats Dandelion flowers like candy; over one hundred at one outing. Add to that stealing tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and radishes from the garden and this week he added whole oranges, unpeeled to his diet. The good thing is that in the destructive mode, he has only destroyed two or three decoys so after reading what some of you have had occur, I'm feeling fortunate.

My two labs have done so many things its hard to recall every one :chuckle:  My favorites are
1:  Bringing a live rabbit into the house and releasing it.
2:  Busting through the wood fence to take a poop on the one neighbor's lawn that hates dogs and hunters.
3:  Killing all of the chickens at a friends house (we are no longer friends as a result)
4:  Refusing to leave the duck blind because we limited out in a hour and they still want to hunt.
5:  Chasing deer and bears while grouse hunting :bash: :bash:

we have a golden doodle.  he always greets you at the door with something in his mouth.  could be a sock or whatever he can find.

if he doesnt meet you at the door, he's done something wrong.  most likely got into the trash or grabbed a loaf of bread off the counter.  he will usually be hiding in the corner of our bedroom if he doesn't meet you at the door.

I forgot the blackberries. When I exercised my lab during the late summer, I picked blackberries for him but if I was a little slow, he'd strip them off the bushes himself. I've witnessed coyotes doing the same thing.

Odd thing about the Dandelions is that the ones growing late Summer don't interest him at all.

Doberman and Heeler/BC cross:

1. Chased a deer that got proceeded to get hit by a car on the highway (shock collared now when riding horses).
2. Destroyed duck decoys.
3. Drug dead cow calf to the house.
4. Eaten entire deer hides.
5. Eaten an entire bag of pistacios (yes, they come out the same as they went in).
6. Eaten a steelhead yarn ball with hook (and crapped out - got lucky there).

Two forty pound bags of salt left over from last year were sitting in the portch. Out coonhound left them alone for awhile but the night I finally find where I want to put my cameras tore apart. Not just tore open and a pile of salt on the portch she drug both of them all over the yard. Needless to say spent hours cleaning it up to only end up with dead spots in the lawn anyways. The next was a quart jug if oil she got out if the garage after some how getting the door open. Some how only put one ion hike in the handle, so I picked it up and out it in the shop there is no way she can get in there. Wrong dead wrong next night come home to the oil jug drug all over the backyard after putting multiple more holes in it so she watered who knows how much of the lawn with oil. Oh yea salt was front yard and oil was the back, so should have a matching set of leopard print lawns!!!!

Our first springer "Upland Dancer" stole all the presents with candy in them one Christmas Eve.  We didn't know for sure until the spring when my mother decided to plant a new rose in the garden.  There were all the Christmas gifts still perfectly wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper buried about a foot down.

When we got the two sisters "Upland Skagit" and "Upland Sauk" they were little monsters.  One day I put out an entire brick of butter on the counter to soften.  Yep, they ate the whole thing.  Gave them gas something good.  Was hard not to laugh at them though.  For two days each time one would fart the other would come over and lick it's A hole. :chuckle:

My wonderful little "Upland Sandy" dog never stops being the bird dog.  Even when she is poopin' she can't stop following her nose!  Well we leave her with my parents during one elk season.  We get back into cell range and there is a message from my mother telling be to come get my D*&N Sandy dog!  Guess three times a day my mother is following her around the neighborhood with a poo bag.  "She starts to poo at one end of the neighbor hood and doesn't finish until she has reached the other end of the neighborhood!  She's like Hansel and Gretel dropping bread crumbs the whole way.  Grrrrrr..I have had it!"

The list is long.  Very long.
- Chewed the electrical wires to my boat trailer 3 times.  I had to rewire it.
- Pulled the kennel panels apart several times.
- Got out and got a free ride to police department then to Humane Society before I knew they were gone.  Cost me $400.
- Chewed through several hoses.
- Handle off of water faucet.
- Lots of kids toys and Tonka truck wheels.
- Many fence panels.
- All the plants, shrubs and trees in back yard.
- Dozen floating goose decoy heads.
- Swallowed a 6 oz lead decoy weight.  $600+ vet bill.
- Knocked my Browning BPS in the river where it was about 40'.  That cost me about $525.
A few to mention.

With my first Brit, we used to come home to find the entire floor covered with shredded paper, cardboard, crappy diapers, femine products...There were a couple of times where it was 6" deep! We started closing doors and keeping the tempting stuff out of his reach.  but still, for most of his life I would scoop poop littered with crayons, bits of toys, ribbon, tissues, & tampons.....
Oh and that dog, ate his own poo....................Those are the worst dog farts!!

Early one morning I came downstairs and was assaulted by a foul stench. Turns out Riley had gorged himself on the fish fertilizer pellets I had scattered throughout the garden the day before. He had blowouts scattered throughout the lower floor............grrrrrr (never used that fertilizer again.............come to think of it, didn't really have anything to fertilze since he cleaned out the peas, strawberries, grapes, etc.)

My girlfriend's lab made pretty short work of her first Christmas prime rib when he found it cooling on the counter. needless to say, her in-laws were not amused.

A year or two ago, my old boss's Burnese Mtn. dog ate his tickets to the Masters Golf Tournament (it made it's way to the national media). He was able to get it to throw up enough of the tickets that he photographed the remains and sent his request for replacements Augusta, which they granted.

My old dog Jackson, who we had to put down last month at 14 years, popped the lid off a double shot latte I had in the center counsel, and downed the whole thing while I popped into Home Depot to grab something.

Several years ago my dog Thor(1/2 Brittany, 1/2 Irish setter)  chewed up a Danner boot when he was about 4 month old, he also ate a wallet with $160 in it and was crapping out little pieces of $20 bills for the next couple days.

Went softie one day and corralled the sick english pointer into the laundry room, came home from work and he'd jumped the gate keeping him in the laundry room,he greeted me with a feather sticking out of his mouth,I rounded the corner of the kitchen to find the source of the feathers,King size goose down comforter, and yup it was shredded and yup theres about three flocks worth of feathers in one.

OH man this reminds me of the time my sons dog decided to kill the down pillows  :bash: I walked in and it looked like a bird had blown up....and there sat the dog just as pleased as could be with all the fun he'd had.  My other sons pig liked the sound of ripping fabric and he shredded several sleeping bags over the years....I have pic somewhere of my youngest sleeping with his pig, hid german shepherd and the standard poodle all on the bed in the tiny travel trailer we were living in.

I was at work, girlfriend was home, dog was in the backyard.

His crippling separation anxiety got the best of him and he decided he NEEDED to be in the house.

Ripped a hole in the siding, pulled out the insulation, broke though the drywall, only to hit the back of the dryer.  Just bad placement

Really wanted to kill him, but I have to say I can’t believe he actually got that close to breaking into the house.  Impressed me a bit.

Our black lab stole the neighbors potted plants, still in the pots. I caught him bringing the 3rd or 4th plant in our yard; fortunately he was just collecting, and didn't eat them. No idea why.

He ate the end of an extension cord, while it was plugged in. I heard a yelp, and saw him streaking across the yard with smoke coming out of his mouth.

He was also the only dog I've owned that didn't like car rides. He'd get anxious, start drooling, then poop and puke in the car. We had to take him someplace one time; my wife drove so the dog could sit with me to keep him calm, sure enough, he hauls off and poops all over my lap.

Every Lab I've ever had, had a yern to chew on something or another, garden Hoses, elect wire, pine cones, etc.
Current male lab chews on nothing, never has.  I have a fm CBR who is a month older than him.  If he begins to chew on something, she just walks over and takes it away from him.  She does not chew on it herself, she just doesn't want him to have it.  Every now and again, she chews on him just for s**ts and giggles.
I know guys in relationships like that.  :yike:

Here, our pup got tired of his dog bed.  He also hates cardboard and the UPS and Fedex drivers have all been instructed to put packages inside our house or else the dog will destroy the packaging.  He usually leaves the actual package inside alone, even if it is his new bag of dog food.

Many years ago on the last day of school at WSU some buddies and I drove down to the Grande Rhonde river for a little camping and fishing.  We took my black lab Kelsey.  We spent all day in the river fishing and having a great time.  Starts to get dark, so we make camp and pop a few beers. (okay, a LOT of beers, we were cougars after all)  After drinking and eating we all crash in the bed of the pickup. (3 guys in sleeping bags and my dog).  Middle of the night my dog starts freakin out and jumps out of the truckbed and runs off.  We all get up and stagger around the woods looking for her.  Pretty soon she come racing by me, jumps up in the truck and crawls down into my sleeping bag.  I walk up to the truck and catch a whiff of something not good.  I pull my dog out of MY SLEEPING BAG and she is dripping wet with skunk juice.  After a minor melt down, slept on top of my bag and froze the rest of night.  The bag ended up in the dumpster and the dog slept in the bed of my truck for three weeks until the smell went away.  Best dog I have ever seen though, never be able to replace her. RIP Kelsey, 14 years together.

RIP Little Miss Chevious. Missie was a character. The black lab was a Christmas Present my sophomore year of highschool. She loved to steal all of the tools being used, would eat anything you offered her. Mom didn't initially allow her in the house and when she did we made her lay on the rug by the back door. Missie would low crawl to the edge of the living room just so that she could see me or dad. She had the worst gas and always made me laugh when she would stink my uncle out of the blind. She liked to sneak away from home and be gone for hours, Usually at the most inconveniant time. Her last adventure cost her her life. we are not completely sure what happened but Dad found her dead in the field behind the house. We cried like babies when we buried her. I loved that dog, Dad watched her for me when I went to Basic Training and AIT. And again when I was in Iraq. He fell in love with her and I didnt have the heart to take her away from him. Couldnt ask for a sweeter more loyal and entertaining dog ever. I hope I can find one like her again :cryriver:

My chocolate lab Chester got his face into his food bag the other night and gorged himself.  I awoke to the sound of him moaning at the foot of my bed while trying to find a comfortable position to lay in. His entire mid section was bulging. He looked like a lollypop. I rushed him to the vet, who laughed as he called me in to look at the x-ray.  800$ later...
