It is an awesome buck - I just had to laugh at the boots a little though they almost dominate the photo.

my lucky boots!! I kill everything in a pair of *censored* kickers :) and B&C scoring. Like I said. At first glance you'd think this buck is mid 160's but the tape doesn't lie. He is massive!!
-
nice buck! Yeah the pics must not do him justice! I was thinking 160's myself, good work
-
I woke up at normal time. 7 am. Not expecting to go hunting but expecting to go to school. I forgot that it was late start so I had a couple hours to burn. Instead of going to sleep like most 17 year old would do I though I might as well go do some glassing on the fourwheeler. As soon as I got to my glassing spot I glassed up 5 legal bucks. But nothing I wanted to shoot. And then I looked over, two big toads! I've had this buck on trail camera for over a month and a half but hasn't had the opportunity to get a shot at him. I ran down to my house grabbed my bow and range finder and headed up after him. As I was hiking up I'm praying to The Lord, please help my arrow fly straight and please help me not to be shaking to bad to make the shot!
As I crest the steep hill onto the flat where the bucks were bedded I hear crashing. The bucks winded me and were taking off before I was even there. I was thinking oh no, here goes everything. Well... The big buck stopped just long enough to give me a 50 yard shot, as I let the arrow fly I knew it was money. THWACK. Right behind the shoulder breaking the opposite shoulder. He hunkered up. Hobbled maybe 30 yards and then went over. I broke down. I can't explain the emotion I was feeling and how happy I was. When I got up to him tears were rolling. Like I said, it was one of the happiest moments of my life. My biggest buck to date and I feel so lucky to harvest such a beautiful animal.
There's my story. I hope everyone else is killin and eatin good too!
-
Dang it man ...way to go ...I have not even screwed a broadhead on my arrows yet :bdid: just to dang busy ...good job

Wow, 181 with a 19" left main and 3 4/8 G-3L is difficult to achieve, well done!
-
Those are some big massive g4s! Very nice buck. Congrats!

Definitely a nice buck.

Both mains are well over 19... They are both right at 24" like I said... You can't really tell from the pictures!

Awsome buck  congrats, love the wide ones
-
Did you add two spread credits? They ask for an inside spread and an outside spread but only the inside is counted.
Nice buck no matter the score.
-
SIMPLY INCREDIABLE!!!!!! NICE BUCK GREAT STORY!
-
Very cool looking buck! Congrats!
-
Very nice! Cool bow too!
I don't think those boots would be very lucky for me. I would slip and break my neck.
-
Awesome buck!!!
-
 Way to take advantage of your time!
-

no... Inside spread credit of 26" but then I remembered that inside spread can't exceed main beem length so that's the length I used
-
Sweet buck, congrats.
-
Great buck, awesome that you got it done before school
-
Its 175 inches bigger than my first deer!! Great job
-
Thats a beaut of a buck for sure and with a bow!! Nice job!
Normally I dont do the scoring debate but since you posted the score I am now curious where I am off in my guess. Again, I am not doubting your score, I am doubting my ability to judge. Do you mind positng your numbers to see where I missed it? It might help me in the future. Here is what I guessed. And mine is SCI, no deductions.
24- main 24" main
1" g1 1"- g1
14"- g2- 14"- g2
8"- g3 4" - g3
9" g4 9" - g4
15" mass 15" mass
71" 67"
24" spread + 71" +67" = total gross 162.
-
:yeah: wastickslinger is within an inch of what I came up with based on the provided pics.
-
Awesome buck

you're off by 8" on mass, his mass is crazy!! He also has a 4" kicker coming off his base which you can not see, it's more like a really low double eye guard, and his G3 is 11" and 5.5. I'll have to look at the score sheet when I get home to tell you more but that's what I remember off the top of my head!
-
Great buck congrats!
-
Good job kid
dang nice deer
-
OK --- I need GPS coordinates!!!!!!!!! Where they at?
-
-
Great buck no matter what he scores .
-
Great buck :IBCOOL:
-
Great buck for sure no matter what the score, my first thought was easy 160 so I guess I could see 170-180 depending on slight errors in tine length and mass. Two matching g3's would have made it more uniform but I would have shot that deer any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Good job making it back to school by lunch to do some BSing with your classmates.
Dandy deer no matter what he scores, thanks for posting.

When I saw this pic on Ian's facebook I was stoked for him for sure... initial impression was mid-high 160's for a gross score. Then started running the numbers and had him at 178" I think gross. Either way Ian that's a stud buck and a lot bigger than most of these guys will ever kill with a bow! Great job and thanks for sharing bud. :)
Here's what I had his numbers at:
G1: 1.5+1.5
G2: 14+14
G3: 10.5+4
G4: 12+12
MB: 25+24
IS: 24.5
Mass: 6+6+5.5+5.5+5.5+5.5
That puts him at 177" gross....
Mike

Good looking deer. You should get a bonus point for the boots

Congrats!! Great deer!!

G3: 10.5+4

Mass: 6+6+5.5+5.5+5.5+5.5

Your missing two mass measurements. You have 6 measurements for mass and there are always 8, 4 on each side. #1 Between bur and G1, #2 between g1 and g2, #3 between G2 and G4 And #4 is on the back fork between the Main beam and were the G3 forks off. Here is the link To B&C scoring http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/bc_scoring_typmuledeer.asp?area=bgRecords&type=Typical+Mule+Deer+%26+Blacktail (http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/bc_scoring_typmuledeer.asp?area=bgRecords&type=Typical+Mule+Deer+%26+Blacktail)
Big fronts make up for smaller backs. This buck only gets about 50 inches from the back. With these guesses. Nice buck
-
