Let me know what you think of this video.
Non typical Archery Mule Deer Hunting POV - Solvid FIY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGfIpxF5bdc#)
Pretty crazy hiding place. My brother shot a buck from behind one of the other implements the year before, so he knows the area well.

No. This one we went out of state for.

Loved that video, nicely done and a stud buck too.
-
Great video and even better buck. Great job.

I did a quick search... The company is having problems....
You cannot buy the camera. You can buy mounts but you cannot buy a camera...
I am not sure it would be a good investment. GoPro would be a better company to purchase from.

that was great ...nice buck ...I need one of those cameras :dunno: Where do I get one ?

We do not sell the cameras at this time. All we sell are the head cam mounts; you supply whatever digital camera, camcorder, action cam or cell phone you would like to use. Then all you have to do is attach the CamStrap to the camera, put it on the head and push record.
You can find the CamStrap and other products on the Solvid FIY website below. You will also find camera recommendation there. We use the best we can find as our footage quality needs to be excellent. Most people already have some type of camera that will work fine.

TheHunt, could you please tell me where you saw that the company is having problems? No, we do not sell the cameras, nor my we ever as this is not our intention. Solvid products allow the user to use the camera they already own. The CamStrap, which is all you need to turn a camera into a head cam starts at $30; I do not see how this can be a bad investment? Might get unique footage worth millions just for putting it on and pushing record.
BTW, GoPro does make a good little camera for its intended use: action sports with no focal point. For hunting and fishing, the wide field of view, weak image stabilization , and poor audio quality makes it not much of a head cam. I have yet to see any good footage from an action cam that compares to the footage caught with a CamStrap and camcorder. A $300 + GoPro to get head cam footage of an animal that you can barley see does not sound like a good investment at all. I can am confident that a $200 camcorder and a $30 CamStrap will get you much better hunting footage and also give you standard features like zoom, screen, stabilization, etc that make for a good film and not just POV kill shot footage.
Also, the head strap that GoPro sales does not allow the camera to be dialed in quite like the CamStrap does with the pivot system allowing for a lot of adjustment in every direction, as opposed to GoPro's hinge design that allows only up and down movement. I have sold several straps to be used with the GoPro, and they agree it works much better for hunting. Here is a video Tim Burnett of Solo Hunters did on the issue: http://youtu.be/lh_tpH4JveA (http://youtu.be/lh_tpH4JveA) He is sponsored by GoPro, so he has to use their cameras but like the CamStrap head mount better. Funny thing is they rarely every use the shot footage, and what hey have shown, the animal was barley visible, if at all.
So, I think you have been misinformed, but if I am missing something, please let me know.
Thanks,
Chris

Awesome footage! And all that with just a Solvid Camstrap and a $200 camcorder? Can I ask what kind of camcorder you used? It's not really important, just curious.

The Camcorders used here are Panasonics. The one on the CamStrap is a TM 90, which was purchased for $300 3 years ago. The panoramic camera is an HVC 500. The newer models are better. Through some light testing we have determined the Panasonics to be the best for our purposes; the setting work well and are easy to operate without looking at it. That being said, all top brand name cameras work very well with Solvid Products.

My pack camera is a light weight jvc everio. I just got my cam strap a couple days ago and been playing with it a little. Looks pretty sweet. I wish it was a little heaver or maybe had a counter weight on the other side. Other then that it is pretty sweet and hope to get some good videos this year.

Thanks CarpSniper. Even though the CamStrap does work fine the way it is now, I have been messing around with some counter weight ideas; if you have any, please contact me. More than likely you will get use to it the way it is; we wear it dang near all day sometimes.
Hope to see some videos in the future. Would like to see some bow fishing.
