I know the weight of my bear that I got. I'm just bored and wanted to make a little game out of this. What do you think my bear weighed after I field dressed it?
Hit me with any questions you have about the bear too.

162# field dressed would be my guess. Not sure if that means 170 or 140, but I submitted 170 to be an optimist ;)
-
what did it weigh down?... ?
-
Well judging from the bear being in your truck I say around 175 to 180 .... 5 ft bear  He will make one heck of a rug :yeah:
-
180 was my guess before I saw your choices so I went with 170.

130 to 145 with out hide and 150 to 160 with hide on. :dunno:

Here's a clue; I am 5'11". Here's a bigger clue, the bear is 5'9".

I could be wrong but isn't the answer to a multiple choice question one of the choices? :chuckle:
-
230 before the hints

You know, you smart people really confuse me!
-
How did you weight it?

Yes, the correct answer is one of the multiple choice answers (rounded).
How did you weight it?
The butcher weighed the meat still on bone and then I grabbed the hide/head/feet and stepped on a scale.
-
PS I'll reveal the answer at 11:30am-12pm today!

You've got to watch those butcher scales...you pay by the pound don't you? :chuckle:
-
Time for me to win the guessing game. Get on it, Pilot!
-
And the winners are...the 9 of you who selected 140lbs! The bear looked fairly big and I was surprised to see that the meat/bones only weighed 100. The skin/head/paws weighed 40 lbs. When I skinned the bear, it had almost no fat on it. The butcher was really surprised about that too, he thought I removed the fat. The bear had a really thick coat too.
I was just curious about what you guys thought it weighed because I keep seeing posts about "I saw a 300+ bear today but didn't get a shot." When I got my bear, I thought he'd be over 200, even when he was field dressed.
-
What did I win :chuckle: btw congrats

So just to let you know internet posting weight is double actual weight. So what you have there is a 325# bear. Don't let anyone tell you different

hahaha! ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, ok I get it now!
-
I guessed 170 but am not surprised it was 140. That is not a small bear by any means, nice work. I do believe most people (on the internet) would call that a 250 or even a 300lb bear... they can certainly be deceiving.
-
I cant play you told me :chuckle:
-
This is what those 300 pounders look like.Im 10 ft tall 500 pounds .

I figured it was a trick question so I guessed high :chuckle:
