What do you guys think this is? I talked to our biologists and didnt get a definitive answer.
-
I say wolf.

Its not a coyote. I'd say looks like a wolf.
-
Pet hat looks like a wolf or a wolf.

Wolf
-
If it is a wolf it is a Rez wolf and that equals not safe at all. I will give more details her in a little bit.
-
wolf or hybrid
-
This was in Inchelium, in our buttercup housing complex. The complex is fenced and the "wolf" was freaking out because it couldn't find it's way out of the fence. It sat there long enough for me to get a picture and then ran off pretty fast. The only reason I didt shoot was because to the right of the photo is a house maybe fifty yards away. Biologists number one glanced and said husky fish and wildlife officer started out as husky and by the time I was saying bye he talked as if it was a wolf picking off the pets. Biologists number two never did give me an answer. I have not seen a husky in this neighbor before and dogs are banned.

That's a Husky
-
That's a Husky
That's what I'm thinking also.
-
I'm no expert but it looks like a hybrid or husky.
-
husky
-
Not a wolf :twocents:, Im not an expert tho
-
You should have got a closer look. :chuckle:
-
Husky or Malamute. Not a wolf.
-
Husky or Malamute. Not a wolf.
I agree
-
After doing some reaserch and talking to people this is a hybrid wolf. The owner just got it this week and is supposed to keep it chained up from now on.
-
Husky/Hybrid
Given the area.....it's POSSIBLE a wolf COULD be there...but I am betting Domestic.
-
I agree too ...Husky !
-
Looks like a domesticated dog
-
is that the only pic you got? have him pose several positions for you. husky? mike w

One heck of alot more than possible..........................
-
The first time I looked at it was on my phone and I thought wolf. Now that I see it on my computer I think it is too big for a husky so more then likely is a malamute but malamutes look a lot like wolves... basically inconclusive... :sry:
-
I would have guessed some kind of domestic. Cross maybe but I agree withthe guys who were getting the dog vibe for sure. I guess next tie you can get us a real close up since it likely will be out/off leash again.
Would make a beautiful rug though :chuckle:.
-
Husky :twocents:
-
Find your spent brass and kick dirt.......
-
Looks too big to be a Husky. Looks like a Malamute. Friend of mine has two of them, and they look a lot like a wolf. Lots of color variations in them. (In wolves, too!) I don't think a wolf would have sat there long enough for you to take a picture.... :dunno:
-
That's a Husky
it looks that way to me... ?
-
Husky or Malamute. Not a wolf.
My thoughts though I have seen a wolf about 10 miles south of there by where Finley used(may still) live.
-
dances with wolves
-
Looks like a husky to me.but i could be wrong :dunno:
-
People don't read posts... the op posted what it is after he found out but people are still guessing... :chuckle:

Nice, he's letting this thing run around off a leash until he's told he shouldn't. We need more like him in this state. Maybe he should apply for a DFW management position or spot on the commission. :bash:
-
I hope all of you guys that propose "shooting first" can ID a wolf compared to a dog better in real life than you can on here.... There are going to be some sad pet owners come hunting season if you guys practice what you preach. :twocents:
-
Considering where you saw it it think it is highly likely it was a AK Malamute. Is IT possible its a wolf? maybe... I would think that owning a Husky/Malamute might be a recipe for disaster in that neck of the woods. Especially if you just let it run loose. If it was in housing area I'd just ask around a little as to who's husky it is... likely someone has an idea. :twocents:
-
It looks a lot like a Huskey to me.

Isn't there a leash law there? There are dogs that get hit by cars around here and it's the owner's fault for not having them restrained. Regardless, if you're shooting because you think it's a wolf, you've got more problems ahead of you than an angry dog owner. :dunno:
-
Friendly warning to the OP. :hello: If someone clicks on that photo they can troll through your whole photobucket album. Might want to lock that down.
-
husky shoot it
-
If ya scroll back up, post author explained it WAS a domestic. 8)
-
It depends on where you took this, It has many wolf characteristics. but so do huskies. If you were deep in the woods, then definetly wolf, if you were near houses then it could go either way.
-
Could be a Wolf. Where was this taken at?

The OP said it was a hybrid back in September when this thread died.
-
If taken in the NE..wolf. If taken on the west-side..its either a hybrid or Fido!
-

:yeah:
:chuckle: :chuckle: No one wants to scroll back to see that is indentified as a domestic already.
