Title: Broadhead Questions
Post by: lostbackpacker on September 20, 2013, 11:13:29 AM: I am just getting back into archery after a 5 year abscence. I currently do not have any broad heads.

I saw an article on hear about Toxic Broad heads.

They look interesting and are supposed to fly like field tips.

Any pros or cons from real world users? Or are these things gonna be a fad?

What do you shoot for broad heads?

right now i have two Shuttle T's and three Montecs in my quiver. Next year i'd like to try strikers. they are very sharp! i friend cut himself at the archery range swapping out strikers for field tips a couple years ago. bled like stuck pig!

Post by: brianb231 on September 20, 2013, 02:25:42 PM: Do not overlook the Carbon Express f-15's I did a flight test with many and all mentioned and the f-15 still shot the best. Now that was with my gear anyway. We have killed 4 elk with these in the past couple years. Work good.

I had muzzy 3 blades last time I hunted archery (2006). they worked just fine, just thought there might be improvements in technology with them just like everything else in the world.

Post by: hillbilli on September 23, 2013, 05:11:39 AM: I've tried a few different ones over the years- currently use 3 blade muzzy's, their 4 blades are good too. for the price of 32$ for 6, there may be better heads, but I dont think you will find better for the price. Their reuseability, resharpenability, and durability for the price are hard to beat. If you local store doesnt have them Wal mart dot com will ship them to your local store, free shipping. The guy who got me started using them was using the old 115gr 4 blade, and had some where he had killed 6 or 7 deer with the same broadhead. I had seen him miss a deer in the morning, touch up the blades at lunch, and kill a deer with it in the evening. (Florida-2 deer a day limit) There are a lot of good broadheads out there- get a decent brand, make sure they are sharp, and make sure you have your bow tuned to hit where you are aiming with broadheads.
