For me it was a special chance to get back to that unit and return the favor of how many folks have helped me on hunts that were previously strangers and are now friends. In all my years of hunting with my dad, I must say that the scouting and this day's hunt were some of the best times I've had in the field. I'm proud and feel very lucky to have been along for this ride, and enjoyed every minute of hauling that great beast up and off of that hill!

The shot. He shot from the rocks right next to us 340 yards down to the boulder just behind and to the right of the prominent tree in the photo. The ram was standing on top of the boulder. In the high res picture, you can actually see the other sheep still hanging out 20 yards behind the boulder.

Approaching the kill with Jimmy, Blake, and Brian. The ram dropped right in his tracks. It was the cleanest, most humane shot I think I've ever seen. He hardly moved.
