I've been patiently waiting for powder to start returning to the shelves now that the scare has subsided. Ammo is starting to return but still no powder. At least not at the stores I've check and Midway. Does anyone know where some can be found? I prefer IMR4350 but at this point beggars can't be choosers. Plus I'm looking to start reloading for my .223, .338 MX, and my .450 Bushmaster so I will need some different powders anyway. I am willing to travel.
-
I haven't seen much. Just keep looking
-
I bought 5 lbs (over 5 days) of IMR 4350 at Bob's in Longview. If I get a chance I will check tomorrow and tell ya what they have in stock.
-
Nope. Occasionally see some Blue dot or something I don't want. I've been waiting and waiting for Reloader #5 and some H322.
-
A few's stores are getting it in. I bought a jag 8) of imr 4350 since I use it in all my magnums. I know Portland has had some and tri cities has had some I on my last couple trips.
-
Been looking for the same powder for the past 6 months and no luck.
Looking for it at Cabela's Lacey, Sportsman's Warehouse in Silverdale and Federal Way.
-
Bricks of primers (large rifle) in McKenna.
BTW
-
Thanks guys. Sounds like there is a road trip in my future.

I can't imagine how much you paid for that powder from those rip-off artists.....
-
Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee has been getting quite a bit of powder in and the shelves are fairly well stock.
-
Anyone seeing any Varget or H4350?
-
I've managed to find some stuff, but could really use some H4895 and Varget.
-

About the same as any place else :dunno:. As far as what they have in stock right now is a bunch of 7828 and some others but no 4350. He said they should be getting a new shipment in tomorrow.
-
Should be no more than $25-30 lb

It was 27.99/lb.

Buy what you can now, with the Obama Administration signing the UN Arms Control Treaty I expect another run on ammo to start soon.

Kerry signing means nothing.
The treaty needs 2/3rds majority in the Senate to be ratified. In fact the Senate already passed an amendment stating the US would not/could not enter into the treaty.
Remember.......Hype, hysteria and drama queens led to three thousand dollar AR15's.

I would think that after the last run on ammo most of us have gun rooms stacked to the ceilings with firepower.
Hopefully prices won't skyrocket again.

Kerry signing means that the Obama Administration is doing everything they can to get your guns. I will buy more supplies, you can do as you wish. So far we have that choice. :twocents:

BiMart in E. Wenatchee has some powder, and Stan's Merry Mart in Wenatchee is reported to have some. Don't know what kind though.... :twocents:
-
I fear that bearpaw is right. If the treaty doesn't do it they will try something else.
I just called Sporty's in Clatskanie, OR.
They still have smokeless, but no black powder.
Sporty's - 503-728-2712
-
Many stores will not carry Black Powder because of all the storage and containment rules. Not worth the hassle. If you find some anywhere, BUY IT! :twocents:

Remember the run on primers in the mid 90's?
Or how about the big run on ammunition in 2008?
Maybe the 1774 import ban on arms and powder? :chuckle:
-
I'm pretty well stocked up. I will wait for the rush to subside and then continue buying when the prices/availability get better again.
-
And prices and availability WILL get better again :twocents:

I visited Work Sports and Outdoors in Enumclaw today and they had an impressive amount of Varget as well as some IMR4350 and H4350. They had several other Hodgdon powders as well.
I was going to get a few pounds of Varget, but the guy said it's $30/lb. :o No thanks...
If you're desperate, give them a call/visit.

:yeah:
AMEN!
Let prices continue to fall... No need to fabricate a panic over something that isn't going to happen.
Sometimes we're our own worst enemies. The widespread hoarding and price gouging seen in the last 10 months has ranged from shameful to downright embarrassing!

There has been powder in Colville at Clark's Allsports, most of it is $23.99 per pound.
Big R has powder for a few dollars more.

BP is obviously mistaken. There is no powder in Colville, so noone should come up here looking for it. :chuckle:
-
today I found:
Winchester 296, H414, IMR 4227, IMR Trail Boss, IMR 7828, IMR 4831, IMR 4198, Hodgdon Titegroup and H322
This was at the Swain's store in port Angeles.
-
Was Saturday at Cabelas in Tulalip - only empty shelves ,no powder or primers
-

Anyone seeing any Varget or H4350?
I saw a few cans of H4350 this morning at the Thriftway in Forks when I went into town. Probably the best powder and ammo selection I've been seeing in months.
-
H1000 and Varget on the shelf in Moses Lake Walmart
-
Still plenty of Varget at Work Sports in Enumclaw... And still $30/lb...
-
I broke down and ordered Norma powder from Graf & Son's. They had plenty of 204, MRP and URP. But did not have 202 or 203. So far the MRP shoots great out of our Bob's. I will probably buy some more soon if they keep it stocked. Not cheap, especially with the hazard ship fees, but available. Still cheaper than driving to Colville :chuckle: Have not found any magnum primers or CCI 200 primers. Settled for Remington 9.5 primers and they seem to work ok.
I haven't seen a Hogden or IMR rifle powder in stock in the Portland/Vancouver area in months.
-
All depends on timing. I picked up 8lbs of IMR4350, 4831 and RL22 along with Federal 210s not too long go online.
I see RL17 and IMR 7828, as well as CCI 250s available right now
-
Almost out of R22, R15 and RH, hope some shows up soon.
-
As of Thursday October 17 at Cabelas Lacey has 2, one lbs can of IMR4350; 18 one lbs can of IMR4064
