Title: Post fire advice please
Post by: HoofsandWings on September 28, 2013, 06:52:49 PM
I went to my favorite area only to find it was scorched by a wildfire a couple of weeks ago.
The roost trees are there, but no grass or underbrush.
There are a few, very few spots that were spared.
Will turkeys come back to the area for the spring hunt?
The rumor is a couple of archers dropped a cig, but it could have been some ember from a controlled burn some distance away.

Yes, they will be there next year.  I can't say if they will roost there.  Some of the trees will die even if they don't look dead right now.

Have you ever tried to start a fire with a Cigarette?
