Title: When is everyone leaving for deer hunting?
Post by: pashok23 on October 06, 2013, 07:14:25 PM: Just curious when are you guys are leaving deer hunting? Personally im leaving friday night, wish I can live earlier like thursday.but It is what it is :bash:

Myself, I have to wait until the last week of November or the first week of December. Haven't decided yet. Probably another 4 day season for me.

Then Saturday I'll shoot my buck, burn some wood, Sunday my son will shoot his buck, burn some more wood and Monday my brother-in-law will shoot his, we'll burn alot of wood now and maybe drink a beer! We'll call home every day and tell our wives about the ones that got away and finally the last Saturday we'll tell the wives we finally got them and come home Sunday!
Guess that about covers it!

Post by: wafisherman on October 08, 2013, 02:33:52 PM: Heading east from Monroe first thing Thursday morning with my 10yr old son for our first hunting trip together (my first 'solo' trip and first real hunting trip in WA since I was about 8yrs old). Heading to some public land, hiking for at least half day to get well away from any roads and horse trails, setting up base camp, and then scouting things out until Saturday. Coming home Sunday night no matter what... Hopefully not with tag soup for dinner.

The last two seasons, football has forced us to alter our plans, my son made varsity and they have mandatory practices on Saturday. Hunting with my son is everything to me, so I don't get to hunt opening morning, at least we get the afternoon/evening and then Sunday hunt to be with the family. Making a short story long, we'll be heading out around noon saturday, good luck all.

Same here! We'll be leaving the 18th after everything cools off. Unfortunately, it limits our days for mulies, so we'll be stuck with whitetail the second week. It's worth the wait not to see so many people.
