With opening day just 2 more days away, how many straight opening days will this make. My wife was asking me this the other day. Pretty easy I told her, got my first hunting license at 10 years old, I am 53 now.
So, this will make 43 straight openers on Saturday morning.

#18 this year. Every year since the very first time I picked up a rifle at age 10.
-
First year in WA and this season will be my second for hunting
-
Due to my Military service, this will be #10. Other than that I've been at every hunting camp since I was 4 months old... Oct. 1979.
-
10 years of archery and rifle. 5 with archery muzzle and rifle. Not sure how you want to score that!
-
First deer, first season at age 12... and I'm 24, so this is
#12
But Ive been at hunting camp (which is opener) consecutively every year of my life since i was 1 1/2 MONTHS old....

26 years. Ugh. I'm getting old.

My favorite time of year. I was at a soccer match last year and will be again this year. My tag is notched, but I still like to get out.
-
Looks like a lot of experience from most of us will be getting after them this Saturday
-
It will take a pretty nice buck for me to pull the trigger , but my buddy isn't picky !

I am not the picky type either, got a run going now of 27 for 27 all off of public land :IBCOOL:

25 and most of the season every year. Full season this year.
-
I've missed a few due to weather, I won't even go if it hasn't rained yet. Some years if we get an Indian summer, I'll just stay home, and then hit it hard when it finally rains.
-
This too is my favorite time of year, although October isn't my favorite time for hunting, I love the weather, the best time of fall. This will be my second year in a row not being out this weekend, too busy guiding in Idaho.
-
Been 4 or 5 years since Ive been out on rifle season. Switched to archery hunting and have spent the last couple opening weekends for rifle working, but I'll be out this weekend tagging along with the family!! hopefully find them some bucks to shoot! Best part is after work tomorrow all I have to do is roll into the camp they have set up then eat all their food and drink all their booze!!! :IBCOOL:
Been awhile since Ive seen the pumpkin patch should be interesting!! :yike:
-
well consecutive will be 12. I missed afew while I was in the Marines. I've made 19 opening days since I started hunting.
-
31
-
started in 1965 and less the time spent in the service haven't missed even made 1 year during the military time.
Guess I'm just old and need you guys to whisper a few easy honey hole to me in P'M's.
More if you count the ones as a kid tagging along.
-
This will be # 50 for me....started when I was 10......WOW...where did the time go............Les
-
I don't hunt on the weekends since I am retired and there were a few opening days I had to work, but this is my 61st hunting season. Didn't kill a deer every year, but many years passed up a lot until I found what I wanted or didn't shoot. One year hunting mostly in 113 I shot the 113TH buck I saw that season. That was the last day and I wanted some meat so took a small buck, the 13 buck I saw that day. One of the most exciting buck was a three point blacktail that I shot at 20 feet with the muzzle loader in thick timber. He had all points broke off on one side and half of the main beam missing on the other. Getting that close and getting him with out him knowing I was around was exciting.
-
41.....
-
dang 61 seasons that's assume !
-
37 consecutive. But not this year. Going to miss the whole season. Working in Sweden for a month. But I hope to be home the day before elk season starts!!
-
9 years for me
-
42 years all in Wa. almost all Blacktail.
-
If you include tomorrow,,,, my score will be 1 :dunno:
-
actually hunting and packing a gun i've been out since I was 11 I tagged along with dad not packing a gun since i was 9 and now im 34 so i guess that marks 23 years straight some of them were very short either tagging out or running home to make it on the bus in time. I ran cross country throughkiddle school, highschool and college and the meets were always on Saturday but i still got up and went out for the opener then hightailed it off the hill in time to catch the bus and get a quick three to six mile run in and then return to the field after the meets crazy times thats for sure. I live for this day every year my wife says Im obsessed and she just plans on seeing very little of me for the month of October. Good Luck tomorrow everyone and stay safe. Looking forward to all the success pictures!
-
If I go tomorrow, one. I've hunted a lot of opening days over the years, but I find them over-rated. I'm not one who cares for big crowds when I'm hunting. I like to wait until the middle of the week, in the middle of the season. The animals have been pushed hard, then the crowds let up and the deer show back up. I may go tomorrow to take my young son out tho.
-
Wow, started hunting in '68 at 14, delay entry in USMC so I could hunt '74 (got first elk), missed '75.
Made every opener (whether bow, muzzy or rifle choice) every year since. So, 37(?)
-
This would make 32 for me. #2 for my 13 year old son and hopefully his first deer 8)
-
#2 for me tomorrow. Hope I grab one!
-
If you include tomorrow,,,, my score will be 1 :dunno:
Gotta start somewhere.
This will be my 3rd for Deer. Hunted ducks my whole life but just recently got into big game.
-
Started at 10 and just turned 40. Haven't missed a year,30 in a row.
-

-
I've lived in WA State since 07/1987 that makes it 27 for me.
-
I always skip the opener and start on the Mon. or Tues. after the weekend road hunters thin out.
-
I started at age 12. 30th anniversary for me. Just started my daughter this year also at age 12. Hopefully, when she is my age, we will still be going when i am 72.
-
