USSA to Stand Up for Hunting on Fox News Program

The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, the nation’s leading sportsmen’s rights advocacy organization, will tonight address comments made by a Washington Post columnist and an NBA star that compare dog fighting to hunting.

Rob Sexton, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Vice President for Government Affairs, will be a guest on Fox News Channel’s O’Reilly Factor to respond to the ridiculous comparison.

Tune in to Fox News tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 8:00 p.m. (replay at 11:00 p.m.) for the interview.

The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance is a national association of sportsmen and sportsmen’s organization that protects the rights of hunters, anglers and trappers in the courts, legislatures, at the ballot, in Congress and through public education programs. For more information about the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance and its work, call (614) 888-4868 or visit its website, http://www.ussportsmen.org.

I hate to watch political crap...especially about hunting or gun control..it just angers me and then I have to go out and club baby seals while eating a steak, after driving my humvee....

This should be a slam dunk. NBA stars have zero credibility in my eyes ...and just slightly more than news columnists from DC. Does the NBA Star hang out with Vick much  :chuckle:

Quote
"I think we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals," the Knick point guard told Capital News 9, an Albany TV station. "You know, from what I understand, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors.

Bummer. Maybe it will send a clear message that they may need a designated public spokesperson. It could be just that Mr Sexton is fulfilling some other duties quite well and is a good fit for his position in all other aspects :dunno:

This is a direct quote of what he said "We don't say anything about people shooting deers and shooting other animals, you know what I mean? From what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors and I think it's tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down ... I think he fell into a bad situation."  C'mon..........."shooting deers"????????  Someone who talks like that and has the reputaion that Stephon Marbury has (a thug) it would take a real idiot to take into consideration his views on this situation.  But, I guess this world is full of idiots.  The point is if Vick wasn't black none of these guys would be defending him, I may have pissed a few people off by saying that, but it's true!

One example (out of probably an endless list) why the ACLU is screwed up is that they support the idea that it is ok to disrupt a dead soldier's funeral. They believe that within the freedom of speech that it entitles society to take part in activities which are grossly disrespectful and derogatory. The fact is that they cannot use any common sense with their agenda and that I firmly believe that any common person views this organization in disdain, disgust or generally just a nuisance with a bunch of loud mouthed punks at the the top of their organization.

You spend your money on who or what you want and I'll do the same. ACLU and Planned Parenthood get my donations. You can donate to anyone who you feel represents your beliefs. Problem with that?

Actually I do have a problem with the groups you donate to. But I do not try to push my agenda down your throat at every single opportunity by bashing our president, current administration, what have you. I do not particiapte in purposeful inflammatory name calling every chance I get.

We already know what you think about this county, this administration, religous conservatives. We have read your past comments in many differing threads. We get your point. Got it.....

Ahh, I LOVE this country. AND this IS the politics section. AND I have responded to some very inflammatory anti liberal statements from people that oviously don't know what their talking about. And yes, I believe your "god" is all in your head, and Bush is a moron. But, I don't care who or what you worship or spend money on. What important is the freedom to decide. Besides, politics get pretty boring if your all goose stepping together.

Hermit, it says your a site sponsor, what do you sponsor?  It is important to me because I want to make sure I do not contribute to your bank account.  And your right you have the right to contribute to whomever you want, I just don't want to help you in that respect.

The only thing a sponsor is ... is someone who has contributed money to keep the site running or entered an agreement which generates cash for the site by advertising. It's very strange to me how someone could interpret it as a gateway to get money from this site. The only businesses which might receive some sort of perks by advertising are listed in the sponsors link to the right next to the who's online link. Those businesses or individuals have either made an agreement to have an ad here which in turn generates revenue back to site funds or have made direct donations to keep the site running. Nobody gets anything without giving a little. To generate revenue for a sponsor you have to click on their link and buy something. If it says "hermit's r us" on the link then you might be contributing to his bank account :chuckle:

Furthermore ... this site is not a contributor to my bank account and I am the sole owner. Whether or not we have political and social disagreements most if not all people will be hunters and outdoorsmen or women here. Inevitably views will be different. But one thing which I believe in is recognizing those who have supported the existence of this website.

So he's a donor, gotcha.  Sponsor's normally advertise a product or a service on a website.  Thanks for clearing that up for me.

So don't get your panties all in a knot just because different ideas are presented. It would be much better to tell me your prespective. Show me the light.............I don't have to be in lockstep with someone to share a duck blind.
