Nice bull, congrats. Got a stary on this guy ,where it came from etc. ?

My huntin partner has been trying for years to get us permission to hunt a farm , and this year we got it. This morning just before shooting light I spotted the herd in a lower field. Two shooters were sparing and my partner picked the bull on the right ,every time we were just about to shoot a cow would wander in front of one bull or the other. Finally they separated and I told him we better shoot one and try to pick the other one off after the shot. Well it didnt work out for the other bull, they crossed the river and were gone. Heading back in the morn to see if we can get back on the other shooter. Thanks for the congrats. This is my first bull after years of coming up short for one reason or another. Thanks again MarkTS :P

Did you load that bull in a toyota whole? i believe my uncle saw you driving by and told me that some lucky hunter got one.
-
Three of us loaded it whole in a maroon Tacoma, my back hurts. :'(

-
good deal...way to fill the tag on a nice elk
-
Looks like you scored in a great location. Now I know how all these guys are loading elk whole in their trucks. I've never been so fortunate.
-
Looks like Forks ;)
-
Nice work on filling the freezer! Those younger bulls sure do eat good.
I shot my first bull just up the road from your house I think. :IBCOOL: This was my first year elk hunting and I got a nice little three point.
I think I'll have to post the story and a couple pics. Congrats!
-
congratulations. nice looking bull. glad you got some meat to put in the freezer. hopefully ill have something to post this week. ;)

Nice Elk as any are...I'll be the jerk. Dude you are shooting a cow. Have a bud who shot a 389 high fence, and he gets less praise then then the guy shooting a spike on public land. Good on ya, but it is what is is. The guys who are mentioning all " quality meat" really wanted to say what I just said. Nothing against your elk as any bull is good bull.
-
Nice elk, congrats!!!

That's the most stupid thing I have ever heard :'( I been hunting elk for more years then you've been alive. And I'm very proud of my spike I killed and the cows and calf's I've killed with my bow. All were trophy's to me. Sound like you'er just jealous :chuckle: :'(

I'm with PA BEN. You aren't making sense to me.... it is not clear to me what you're point is at all. Maybe it is a jealous rant.

That's why. A 389 high fence is not hunting. That is growing a crop, nurturing a crop and harvesting a crop. Not hard to do, you just need to have money.

What? That was a WILD bull killed in a feeding area. Only an anti would have anything bad to say about that, or as others have said, a jealous hunter. I see nothing wrong with an "easy" elk.
-
way to go on the bull
-
Good job.

Any bull in Washington is a good bull.

I bet you think the guy that shoots a bull driving down the logging road is a better hunter than I am. Well I did push the easy button this year, but this herd has not been in these fields much at all this year. I dont see any difference than spotting elk in a clearcut and going back openig day. I am only wasting my time responding to your assinine comments because I was anxious to get home after work and see what the nice guys on this site had to say and then I read your jacka$$ response. I had never seen these elk in my life, and I made the three hundred plus yard shot and am damn proud of it. In fact heres another picture of my cow >:(
-
Congrats on your "cow". :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: ;)
-
Nice picture.
I'd be proud of that elk too.
Sweet looking rifle......what rifle are you shooting and what bullet?
Again, congratulations.

Tikka T3 270WSM 150gr Federal Fusion dropped him liked a ton of lead, thanks for the positive feed back :IBCOOL:

not cool, Sounds like a herd that roams around and gets hunted elsewhere or there would be more than 2 bulls in there and he would not have to shoot from 300 yards.
Congrats on your bull and on getting permission to hunt private property.
-
Thats a great elk. It doenst sound to me like you pushed any easy button. Taking years to get permision to hunt is more effort than many people do. And I'm guessing you scouted and knew the field was a good place to be.
Like driving into a clearcut and shooting an elk is any different. Its just a different crop in a bigger field.
Good job on the harvest.

Nice bull good meat, good job on getting the ok from a landowner, those elk tear the crap out of their fences...what kind of bozo statement was the above? Geez..where is that landowner at?LOL

A high fence elk is completely different from this one; this is the same as shooting one in a clearcut; the meat just stays cleaner. I'm just glad to see a local harbor boy get him in the field rather than some weekend woodsman from King County.
-
Nice elk man, good work! With that and the cougar...its been a good two years for ya! :hello:
-
Nice bull!!! I see nothing wrong with a guy doing his homework. Getting permission to hunt on privet property. And closing the deal with a nice bull. It's way more than most people do. There is still a bit of luck in every successful hunt. They are elk. As unpredictable as any animal you can hunt. Just when you think you have them figured out, they fool you. If it were easy, everyone would do it. That was nothing like shooting a cow in a field. Great job on a nice bull!!!!
-
Nice bull and gun..
-
It looks like your getting a mount for that bad boy. i cant wait to see the final product!
-
Nice bull bigger than the one I didn't get.
-
Thanks to everyone for your comments and checking out my bull. I debated on getting him mounted, and decided that the money was needed elsewhere. I did boil it out and am going to come up with something cool for display. Will post pics later thanks again MarkTS
