I have been attempting to contact National Archery in the Schools and Washington State Archery Association to become a certified instructor, and my emails have not received any response.
Are there any instructors on this site ?
Would there be any interest by others in attending a course if one could be arranged ?
I am talking about here on the west side, as there was one in Spokane recently, but I was unable to afford the time/expense of a trip over.

Contact Ray Crisp with the WSAA, he may be out of town right now, but I know his wife is an instructor.Yep. This is your best starting point to getting certified on your side of the state. I'm certified and coach in Clarkston. We held an instructor training this summer, but, again, we're a long ways from you. This program has proven itself over and over to the students and schools involved. I highly recommend that anyone interested in the future of archery become certified and become involved at your local schools!

Attempted to several weeks ago, 3 times, still waiting for response...Holler at Annette on here I know she is a hunters ed version of archery instructor, feel bad cant think of the right name for it but she is an archery instructor for the state program equivalent to hunters ed. I bet she has a few people to talk to. Also if you want to work with school age kids call your local extension office and see about the 4H options in your area, we have rifle, shotgun, and archery 4H'ers over here. good luck....

BAI is only one day, and just certifies you, BAIT is 3 days (includes the BAI) no problem with room, as one reason for lack of classes is lack of interest.
I was hoping some of the members here would be interested, as the minimum is 4 attendees for BAIT.

Have you looked into NFAA certification? There are a few classes offered in the south end every once and a while. I've been trying to get a level 2 course going at CRB for a while.Yes, even fewer, and seems to be more coach oriented than instructor.
Also, I was dreaming of offering courses at local school, NASP has all the curriculum etc..
Hard to believe I cannot come up with 3 others willing to take the course.. :dunno:

If nobody else seems interested, it might not even happen.
I am still looking into somehow attending the one in Bellevue, just have no confidence, too many obstacles for me to overcome in the next couple weeks.
But I will get it done, someday...

NASP is designed so that all students participating use the same equipment, the genesis bows. This allows all students that participate to start on an equal footing and allows instructors to be able to teach without having to learn about different bows.
I did the class in Bellevue a couple years ago and don't recall having to pay for it though. :dunno:
I bet WFWest would have kids that would want to do it, I had plenty sign up for rifle team when I was down there a long time ago.

NASP certifies that you have been trained in SAFETY, and provides curriculum and access to equipment, but once certified I do not think they have a rule you MUST use their equipment...
In my research, NASP is accessible and active with WSAA, while USA Archery is partnered with NFAA, and has more of a "traditional" base. However finding instructor training with USA Archery in Washington State has been harder than with NASP, I have been attempting for over a year, with no responses... Now if I could afford to travel, USA would be a better route.
I actually am "on the hunt" for a level 3 coach/trainer to give me lvl. 1,2 training, but my emails get lost in cyberspace...
But, I will be attending at least the BAI course on Sunday, so if anybody else makes it, say hi !
