Title: Rimrock muzzleloader bull with broadhead
Post by: havensen on October 26, 2013, 05:55:42 PM
I shot this bull on Oct 3rd in the Rimrock Unit and found it had a broadhead buried in its right shoulder blade.  It would be so cool to hear how/where it was shot with the arrow.  It didn't act wounded at all,  bugling and chasing cows like a normal bull in the rut.

looks like it was in the animal for some time. Was there a external open wound?

Yes, it was very clean.  It looked similar to my bullet's entry wound.

because slick tricks will go through an elk shoulder?  :chuckle:
it wasn't the broadhead, but the shot placement that failed on this bull.

that is a great bull!

Great bull. Congrats. That broadhead reiterates the importance of proper shot placement with an arrow. Especially todays light, fast arrows.
