I shot this bull on Oct 3rd in the Rimrock Unit and found it had a broadhead buried in its right shoulder blade. It would be so cool to hear how/where it was shot with the arrow. It didn't act wounded at all, bugling and chasing cows like a normal bull in the rut.
-
looks like it was in the animal for some time. Was there a external open wound?
-
:yeah:
-
Yes, it was very clean. It looked similar to my bullet's entry wound.
-
Very nice bull. Man they are tough critters. Good lord.
-
For sure found some solid bone and was in there for awhile.
-
Nice bull. Impressive animals.

Anyone recognize what kind of broadhead that is?

it wasn't the broadhead, but the shot placement that failed on this bull.

Great bull. Congrats. That broadhead reiterates the importance of proper shot placement with an arrow. Especially todays light, fast arrows.
-
Dandy bull elk!!! Interesting find?

Thanks for the compliments. Best of luck to everybody for the late season...don't shoot them in the shoulder. ;)
