I'm trying to dry the moose feet, do I need to do anything special to them??
-
How are you trying to dry them? I would have them freeze dried if it were me.

I JUST PUT THEM IN A BOX AND SET THEM UP THE ART ROOM...
SO FAR

To do it correctly you need to skin them and remove the bone all the way down into the hoof and then have them tanned. After getting them back from the tannery you can purchase inserts with allthread in them to install inside the hoof and the hide. Or you can send them off to a freeze drying company but then you have to install the allthread yourself so they can be attached to a plaque.

Ooohh they're going to eventually stink really really bad.

:yeah:
There is a lot of flesh and meat in a moose hoof. Something small you could probably dry, or even stick in the freezer long enough it will freeze dry itself, but not a moose hoof. Cool idea you've got though but I'd be listening to what elkstuffer said

Hummm Thanks for the great advice!
