Are we really sure that's a unit 11 buck? The few deer I do see over there are usually little piker crab claw bucks. If this is really a unit 11 buck it's a diamond in the rough. It does resemble unit 11 except unit 11 is much steeper and deeper.............very difficult to hunt. My advice is whatever you do don't waste a chance on a good unit by putting in for a unit 11 tag.
-
I grew up just down river. 11 has giant bucks if you have legs to get after them. I have applied 5 or 6 times, but never drawn a tag. Congrats to the hunter, those local boys know what to shoot for!
-
Nice buck! So why is he 10 feet behind it, isn't it big enough that he could be up next to it :dunno:
-
Looks like a nice one.
-
What a pig
-
That's a great buck

Holy sheet batman ...that one may even get me a little shaky on the trigger :dunno: :chuckle:

Let's keep it in perspective though, it's a great buck but that guy is at least 5' behind the rack. It's nice but if you were to see it in real life it's not nearly as big as it might seem.

I don't know....a 30-35" buck with that mass and character.....is bigger than life in my book. :yike:

I don't think his arm is 5' long...

trying to post
maybe he is 5' behind this photo...

That buck might make 30" outside with his kicker.

My avatar is 27 7/8 outside spread. I say that buck easily hits 30". The second buck is probably pushing 34".

Agreed, but with the kicker, unless that buck has a 28" ear spread. :chuckle: No way the main frame does, and likely why the shooter is posing so far behind it.
Again, its a great buck, I just hate it when these guys pose for their pics obviously trying to make their trophies look bigger than they really are.
-
I'd have to say he's a no brainer just shoot . very nice buck

No doubt about that!

Why does it matter where the hunter is in the pic ??? Why would you judge horn size off of the person any how ??? The dang head is rite below the horns........
Its a great buck and a great pic.... :twocents:

UNIT 11 has dinks and crab clawed bucks... :chuckle:

Second pic of that buck does it justice, most guys would give a left nut to tag that buck. Frickin awesome.

The rumor is unit 13
-
I heard the breaks in 14 but the genetics are off
-
WOW!!!! that is a very nice buck
Man....... looks like you would earn your animal over there. That is some steep country. :yike:
-
Big boy!!!!
-
The buck in the snow was shot in Wyoming from what I've read. I personally think that a picture of the animals whole body looks much better than just the head. I'll bet that the guy who took the picture has been around quite a few harvested animals before and knows what he's doing. It cracks me up how comments get so much more spiteful and sharp on here after the season is over for most of us who weren't able to harvest the trophy we've been losing sleep over for the last 6 months. Monster buck congrats to the hunter
-
That country makes my butt pucker! I dont like steep open stuff! at least where I go there are trees to break your fall! Beautiful though! what a buck!
-
That is a unit 11 buck .. A friend of mine knows that guy and he too had the 11 tag this year and took a dandy of a buck. I grew up in the area too, but like they say ... Go Big or Go Home. HUGE COUNTRY!!!!!
-
That country is daunting all of the hells canyon units
-
Wow what a buck!!!!
-
Awesome bucks
-
Oh my.....Giants!!
-
Who gives a crap where the hunter is setting! It's a great buck! Why can't it just be left at that???!!!!
I grew up in Lewiston and accompanied a few tag holders in unit 11. Crab claws definitely aren't the norm ;)
I'd love to have an 11 tag.
-

do you know any of the stampers? Great buck! I apply every year for 11, tough draw for non res. I go with the rut tag.

I don't think his arm is 5' long...
His arm is across his thigh.
True but his right arm isn't and his gloved hand is under the deer's left ear...

That one you may have a point!
-
I am sure no one on here has looked thru their 25 pics of any animal they have shot and picked out the one that makes it look the biggest. They are both nice deer no matter where they are shot.
NICELY DONE
