it was a long and grueling hunt but in the end.......

I am hoping I never have to try it. I had Deer permit stew last year and it tasted awful !
:puke:

 i just had a fat juicy bull elk steak and it is much better than tag soup :chuckle: :chuckle:

It's all in the spices you use, but even so it's still nowhere near as filling.
-
I gotta laugh, you think elk tag soup is bad. I still have a moose tag :chuckle:

I loved last year with 300, and now this year with Phool.......... What a ride so far.

with bluebird weather conditions (65 daytime temps, low 30's nighttime) and no snow in the forecast, I was worried about such a "bull elk soup" recipe for my Bethel A bull tag.
but my luck held on from previous years spike harvests and my luck managed a 3x3.
nice good looking broth for the elk tag soup though..

Good job on gutting it out till the end.
Been there done that. Drew a permit bull hunt in the Dickey 10 years ago. On the last day of a 10 day hunt, I finally saw a herd of cows! :chuckle:
Sounds like you had a great time in the woods with your partner, and gave it your all.
That's all you can do.
