Only has to be a bony growth that protrudes above the hairline. It is 100% legal and I also say good job on making sure, better safe than sorry and shows responsibility.

My wife's first buck was like that. Could tell it was a buck by the face and black uni-brow but no antlers. About 80 yards away and it put its head down and those two buttons practically glowed. Told her it was legal and if she wanted to "BOOM" I never finished the sentence.

I wasn't sure if he was legal or not so i went back to camp to ask my grandpa and headed back up there and he was right where i left him. About a 20 yard shot with my brothers .243,thing didnt run 5 feet then fell to the ground. Might be small but it'll be good eatin for sure!

I just strongly believe that blacktails should be two pt or better state wide. ive seen my hunting area, white river, go from a really good unit too really poor. the amount of deer that we used to see in a day, now is how many a guy sees in a whole season. ill keep my opinions to myself. again I apologize to the young hunter. congrats on meat in the freezer:tup:

An acquaintance of mine shot a 4 pt mule deer that was hardly much bigger than that little thing. It was crazy how small that buck was, not bigger than a whitetail fawn in September

Also, due to depredation, disease, and other survival factors, harvesting the younger animals have the lowest impact on overall population.

I began my hunting career in the late 70's in White River, was awesome back then, it was not "hunters" who destroyed the unit...

Good on you Whisky. I would vote for a two point minimum myself. However, I would vote for youths to be able to take "any legal buck". I hope it goes to two point before its too late.
