I am looking for some information on the Washington State Entiat Unit. A couple friend and I have drawn a tag for the late Muley Archery Hunt Nov. 30th - Dec. 8th. We are hoping for snow but who knows. Any one know of any good areas to hunt during this time?

Good tag. I will be there the week before with two other guys so may have some info then. Have you been there before or have any starting out areas you are thinking of. Feel free to pm me we know the area fairly well , had the tag before. Its all pretty good and easy to find deer then it gets tough getting on them. This snow we are getting now should get the deer down there before we get to hunt. HOpe the rifle guys leave us a few good ones. Practice practice as its real open and you need to be able to shoot a ways. nwhunter

Good luck with your hunt, lots of snow around. Hope it gets the deer down where you can score! I can see lots of snow on the Clockum from my house!

CHAINS. Do not go over with out CHAINS. Those roads will scare the crap out of you if you don't have them.

+1 on the chains....If you have one pair chain the front.all 4 are better...

I hear that Mud Creek and Crumb Canyon is a good area to start. How likely is it that there will be enough snow to move these guys during that first week in December? Where is a good area to set up camp if there is snow?

I'll be up there also. An idea for camping would be to camp up high (with a wall tent). That way you don't have to chain and unchain every day and you can hunt from camp. If you have a camper or 5th wheel a good place to camp is at the bottom of Potato creek as well as up the potato creek road. There are some nice pull outs up there. I definatly recommend chaining all 4 wheels. Going up isn't bad but coming down with only the fronts chained will put you over the edge. pm me for some more info on area's. I drew the tag 4 years ago also and have some ideas.

Wenatchee has snow in the mountains surrounding it and clockum has snow. Its currently raining and I cant see the Mtns but I'm sure its snowing up there. Should have plenty of snow by Dec.

chains! chains! chains! On all 4!

WHile on the subject of roads and chains can you ride a quad on the main forest roads in the entiat such as potatoe and mud ? Not wanting to hunt off it but retrieve the truck after a hunt ?? And ya those roads with snow and ice will make a guy pucker up real quick!! nwhunter

No fourwheelers are allowed on the roads up there... you can ride a street legal motorbike but no quads...

my brother and i killed nice deer two years ago . we saw the biggest deer between mud ck. and potato creek and lots of small bucks in crum, steleiko. we saw a least one 150 incher each day, one of my memorable hunts and reserve my points for it.

I'll be up there too. Mud and potato creek are good. Also Oklahoma gulch can have some nice deer too. I'll be up there the whole time so I'll probley see you up there.

We bought an old street legal bike to cruise the legal roads for hunter pickups/drop offs, etc. Won't roll where we're not allowed as it's a huge pet peave. Throw some good rubber on the bike and tread carefully.

Whats the reason for no quads on the roads? I understand not having them on the skid roads and stuff but if you can drive a rig on a gravel road why not a quad? I believe you can snowmobile all over the place in the snow and on the roads. I am not a quad hunter at all just would like to retrieve a rig with it and don't want to take two trucks over, however I will play by the rules and leave th equad home I guess just not sure I understand it. I'm not griping so don't torch me, just curious. nwhunter

Only green dot roads are legal to drive in chelan county. And on green dot roads they have to have current ORV tags. Not sure why just the way it is. Street legal on any forest service road. Snowmobile is legal everywhere!
