Title: December Grouse
Post by: aorams on November 30, 2013, 08:54:54 AM
Hi Forum,

ANOTHER new guy here with ANOTHER new guy question.

This year while deer hunting in the Snoqualmie Tree Farm, I was seeing my daily limit of grouse almost every day.  After rifle season ended, I started heading back out to shoot them but they're all gone!  What happened?  Did someone else get them?  Do they do something different when it gets cold?  I'm going back out this week but want to more precisely target them.  I'd love any suggestions you all may have.  Also, I'm a bit concerned about how my grouse hunting could conflict with bow hunters.  Are there any considerations for grouse hunters during bow season?

Thank you AGAIN
Andres

Was there something different about deer season vs last time you went for grouse?  I saw lots during deer season (very hot and dry) in cool/damp/shaded areas throughout the day.  Now that it has cooled down and there is more rain...seems they are spread out a bit more and are only on the roads for gravel early in the morning or later in the evening.
