I have been slowly going down hill. Haven't hunted for deer or turkeys for the past two years. Been going to doctors in Hood River, paying big prices, but getting nothing in return. Got tired of it and went to a local doc in Goldendale. He is getting things done, but it may be too late. I was sent to the breathing clinic here in Goldendale, at the hospital. The gal that gave me the tests came into waiting room and put one of those oxygen things on my finger. It read 95 as it always does. We had walked about 30 feet and I was huffing and puffing, and she checked the thing again. All she said was,"You need oxygen. So here I sit today on oxy 24/7. Right now it looks like COPD. Had one of the high class clowns would have found this a few years ago, it would not be so bad. I am 74, so things are bound to happen. I have not smoked since 1980. Throw them away people. Will keep you posted.

Heart problems aren't near the issue they once were if caught. Lots of people have stints put in these days (out patient) and live normal lives for years and years. Don't give up hope. Amazing what the non-socialized medicine has achieved.

You and your wife are awesome folk,I have nothing but respect and love for you two though we have never met in person..Our prayers are with you and anything I can do, please let me..... :'(

COPD is not life ending (for most part) Many people live for many years on O2 and enjoy a great life style.
I work for a a O2 company and have for almost 19 years now (hence the profile name :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: ) and I have seen people from infants to 90+ year old on O2, and live a great life. It is all you put in to it.
your daily life does not stop with COPD, you may need to take it a bit easier and O2 with at all times but you can still go ahead with life
keeeep your chin up and follow your Dr orders and look for the next hunting or fishing trip :hello: :hello: :hello:
:bfg: :fishin:

1980?! :yike: I kind of think that is why I just live for today. I worked in mountains of asbestos in the late 70's. And I don't want to dwell on that to much. So................ treasuer your every day. I sure do. Life is beautiful after ICU. And I hope you don't ever go there. Prayers sent. I wish you well my friend.

Get back on your feet and get up the puget sound. I would love to take you out salmon fishing this summer. As others have said, do what the Doc says.
