At first I thought it was a wolf but then looking at the pictures and comparing them to other pics on Google I think its a fox... :twocents: I don't doubt for one second that there are wolfs in this area though.

fox
-
Pointed nose, smallness, especially the front leg...makes me think fox.
-
Not even close to being a wolf.....fox
-
What does the fox say?

I wanna be a wolf ?

Great article.

I talked to a guy on pinegrass ridge south of rimrock who says he saw two adults wolves and pups up there this season. My fater in law saw one near grey creek campground right before late elk opened. They are definitely in the Yakima area!

That's a fox, I have seen several of those black ones around darland. The picture angle makes it look much bigger.
-
i saw 6 of those black phase foxes together up in cowiche on a gut pile one year...very cool animals tho, i think they are still considered a red fox tho yeh? just a different color phase
-
Cascade Fox, and that color phase is pretty common for them.

I love the comment posted below the article by some lady that it is a cross with a german-shepard. :chuckle:
-
:bfg: then hike over and find out what was it.... OHH dang it was W....ox.... :sry:
-
I imagine all the extra wolves in the state won't be doing any favors for the few Cascade Red Foxes that live in the state. I wonder if the wolf huggers ever considered that point when they decided how many wolves they wished to have here? :dunno:
-
It's a wolf......in fox clothing.

They have no concept of the effect it will have on other animals

Here is a silver fox and a wolf from last season (both are tanned and for sale by the way) :chuckle:

I know a guy that saw a grey female collared, black male and 4 pups on pinegrass during early archery.
