Title: Dodge Ram 1500 winch help
Post by: butcher98951 on December 11, 2013, 03:25:52 PM
I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 that I would like to put my warn 8000 lb winch on but I would like to keep with the stock front bumper look.
Any members have any ideas or know of any brackets/bumpers that can achieve this.
Pics would be great of your set up to maybe give me some ideas.
Thanks.

Warn Transformer. Look it upon  the Warn site. I just bought the Warn Transformer Generation 2 for my 2013 2500Hd Duramax. You'll need that, the bracket and basket kits for your Dodge. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. It's a clean look.

Rhino makes some decent, clean winch mounts too. Shop around and you can get them a lot cheaper than Warn stuff.

This is a Rhino with a Warn 9000lb Tabor winch all for less than $700, except the lights.

Warn & Mile Marker both offer receiver mount winch kits.  Install a receiver hitch on the front of your truck and the winch cradle slides in. When you want it, stow it away when you don't.  I had the Warn brush guard type set up once and hard it.  Some of the pieces were the wrong size to fit my truck and others were bent to the wrong angle. If I didn't work for a steel building company at the time I would have been hosed.  It was a miserable pice of crap, haven't bought anything from Warn since

I'm very picky when it comes to my truck. I don't like junkie, overdone stuff on them. Sometimes simpler makes a good looking ride.
