Title: Bearhunter Montana Muley Success VID ADDED
Post by: Bearhunter on November 07, 2008, 08:21:31 PM: First off I want to thank Hogsniper my friend for packing the heavy ass tripod and video camera the whole trip, he never bitched or moaned about the weight or the chore that it really is to pack the equipment around THANKS! Day one we seen 19 bucks and found about 10 sheds and covered roughly 17 miles of some of the most beautiful muley deer habitat in the country. Day 2 we put on 11 miles seen 17 bucks, found a couple more sheds but now shooters. Day three in Eastern Montana I connected on a Muley buck. We were at the top of the ridge before daylight and headed off to our glassing vantage. Right away Justin spotted two bucks about 1/2 mile out and we went in for a closer look. After breaking the distance we found the smaller of the two right away. He was a real heavy 3x3, Justin was really wanting me to shoot him but I was intent on finding the bigger buck. After about 10 minutes the bigger buck shows himself, coming out of a coulee where he was hiding. After a quick inspection I could see was real tall 4 point but not real heavy. With the limited time that we had to hunt I fiqured this was the perfect opportunity to capatilize on capture the kill and hunt on film, which is no easy choir. 300+ yards later a less then perfect shot followed by a second and the buck was down. We got it all on film way to go HOGSNIPER! Went down to take a look at him and upon closer inspection he was only a 3x4 I had thought he was a 4x4 but either way Im happy to fill the freezer and make some great memories with a friend. Every deer I kill is special to me, this particular trip I was a little rushed by the hunting party and I new the area has potential for some brusier heavy horned bucks but ya cant get em every year and was happy to take the one I did especially to capture it all on video. Post by: hogsniper on November 11, 2008, 07:56:18 PM: Thanks for all the complements guys!!! It has been an absolute fabulous year in the field this year. I have been on many many great hunts and still have two more weeks left in montana trying to fill my bull tag and my dads combo tags. THen in december my buddy has a cougar permit for chelan county and some of the best dogs around. I had my mind set on doing all this as soon as I got out of the military and am doing it thanks to good friends like James aka bearhunter, Jeremy aka coon dog, and my girlfriend who have made it all possible. We have harvested 6 deer, 3 bears, 45 grouse and numerous ducks and geese and still counting. Have taken tons of pictures and have countless wonderful memories made...THis site has taken off in a good way and I really enjoy reading all the new post and looking at all the other pictures people post!!! Keep it up guys and gals!!!! Happy hunting!!!!
