Well here is a couple pics of my buddys Lion he killed during buck season on the westside. He hadnt seen hardly any deer in his spot this year and he spends hours sitting where he does. He found out why when the guy was starring at him at 65 yards. He was pumped to say the least when he called me. We will be doing a lifesize on him!
So , what do you think this Lion weighed? I just want an honest estimation . I know exactly what he weighed cause we weighed him.
Enjoy.
By the way , that is my little daughter in the picture with the lion. She likes playing with the tongue !
-
COOL!
Haven't ran into a lion track in the mehtow yet. THATS odd. Wolves must have got them. :chuckle:
-
Great looking cat. My guess is 120 lbs. I'm not a good guesser at the size of cats.
-
nice kitty congrats to him.
-
Oh by the way my Buddy is about 6-2 260 !
-
That helps because that looked like a strange and small truck he was standing next to. I'll change my guess to about 185 lbs. Just a guess. Not made to offend anyone. I usually guess conservatively.
-
Awesome job!
-
:bow:Nice cat.......... :EAT:Good eating too. :EAT:
-
150lbs?
Good looking cat man...thats awesome!
-
ya very nice cat. I guess about 130 or so.
-
I'm guessing in the mid 120's for weight, maybe up to 135ish...hard to tell, but he's got a nice big head on him! Your daughter is cute!! Biggest kitty she's played with, huh?
-
my guess 170lb nice lookin cat, 65 yards huh, that'll make your but pucker, those things can move 65 yards in a heart beat.
-
Wasnt taken by chance in Stormking? If so I think I know where.
-
Nice cat. I will guess around 160 :dunno:
-
142lbs 3ozs nice cat,good looking kid
-
I am going to guess about 115. I have never held one so I have no idea how dense they are. Very nice cat indeed.
-
I heard about this cat, but can't remember the weight. ;) That's a big kitty though.
-
I think alot of people are way underestimating that one. I would guess 185+
-
I'll go 155...but what do I know :dunno: Taking a cat on the westside without dogs is something to be very proud of. Congrats.
-
I have no clue, but will guess 140 gutted. :dunno:
-
147LBS. great cat!
-
Cool Cat. I cant wait to see the full mount. 190lbs probably a little steep but what the heck. :)
-
Nice cat, I'll go with 174lbs, and more importantly, more deer in that area next year.
-
125
-
Nice cat man, I think round 176
-
155
-
whats the story with the tag in the ear.
-
give your bud a pat on the back for that one....i say 167.4 lbs.
-
125
Thats my guess also.
-
We weighed him guts and all by the way.
The cat was tagged in CleElum in 07, cought again in 08, and in less than a year traveled 70 miles to where My buddy killed him. Thats what the Bio told him at least. There may be more info on the cat that we havent gotten officially yet. One report is that the cat was transported the second time. The cat was 8 years old or older from what the Bio that tagged him said. I green scored the skull at 14 12/16 but well see what he is after I pull it out of the beetles. Some of you may be pretty surprised as to the live weight of the cat.
-
thanks for the update, the red tag in the ear was a giveaway . glad that youre buddy has history on it just goes to show how far they will go .
-
Here kitty, kitty kitty... :hunter: Nice kitty.
-
Charlie,
When are you going to reveal the weight? I'm real curious, he looks like a big one considering the size of your buddy.
-
Well the cat was a 7 1/2 footer measured on the carcass , and weighed in at 130lbs live weight and aged at 8 years or older. I just wanted people to see what a 180 lb cat doesnt look like :chuckle: Alot of people really miss judge caougars . Real deceiving huh :) I would have thought it weighed more than 130 by the pics though. Funny thing is his carcass measurements fit right on the biggest lifesize cougar forms they have in my main supplier.
-
Wow!!!! That does put it into perspective. That thing must look anorexic from a frontal shot. :chuckle:
-
125ish, nice cat. Opps I guess it doesn't count when you've alreay posted it, didn't scroll down far enough. Just like bears cats are very hard for folks to judge if they don't see a bunch of them.

That threw me too. I was gonna say 125, but then the guy is fairly large so I went higher. :bash:
-
Ive never seen one of these guys in the wild but this pic sure helps me on judging size if that ever happens. ;)
-
Congrats to your buddy on a ncie cat!!! Cute daughter!!!
-
man if that cat is only 130ish then the one i shot up above ellensburg last deer season was only about 170ish. actually it was maybe smaller but comparing the head on that cat and your buddies head then the cats body size compared to its head that cat would look ALOT bigger in the wild.
90% of the mounts i have seen make the cats look alot smaller then they really look in the wild.
yet most pics make them look alot bigger then they really were in the wild.
a girl i knew in high school has the state record archery cougar on her wall and its not that big of a bodie at all. maybe a little bit bigger then the cat pictured.
-
Hey Charlie, didn't he or one of his relatives get a big one last year too?
-

her record cougar probably is a small cat. body size has zero effect on score. it all about the pumpkin head :chuckle:

Nope!
-
Hmm...I thought it was one of them that killed one up by the old garbage dump. Guess I'm mistaken.
-
awesome cat....
-
They sure are decieving. My female was 109 pounds, guts, feathers and all....11 years old. I've seen cats that weighed up to 186...but there is no doubt that a 140-160 pound cat is BIG! (well...and so is that 130! :))
You hear a LOT about the 200 pound cats.... yeah sure...

the one i shot last year jumped up 5ft from me and took off running. it stood waste high to me and im 6' 225lbs. this cat made me look tiny. unless you shoot alot of cats and know exactly what you are looking at its very hard to judge a cat that big. it looked to be an easy 200lbs maybe more. paw tracks in the snow were as big as my hand.
BUT after seeing what a 130 cat really looks like then the cat i shot probably wasnt over 200lbs. though it was alot bigger then the one pictured.
-
I am guessing 139 lbs. Nice lion.
-
I am guessing 130 lbs...nice cat!
-
nice kitty kitty
-
thats a nice cat rick shot. i guess 187lbs
-
charlie did you save the heart and liver?

thanks charlie, i have only seen a few cougars so i never try to guess the size.same goes with bears i saw quite a few this year but i wont ever guess the weight.i dont want to sound like the guys who always see 500pound bears.
-
:chuckle:
I hear ya!
