My heart was broken yesterday morning as I listened to the details of all that happened on my radio, I am a Volunteer Fireman with the Glenwood Fire Department. A flood of emotions went through my mind as I thought about who Jerry was. Jerry was a "One of a Kind" kinda guy. Just read through the post "Jerbear Passed Away" and if you never had the chance to meet him, you'll get a glimpse into who he was. This knife is like Jerry, "One of a Kind" and will remain that way. It will be 1 of 1.
So here it is, raffle tickets are $20 a piece. The raffle will go until 9 PM Monday night (16th), maybe longer if need be. I will put all the tickets in a hat and draw a name and the lucky winner will own this knife and always be reminded that Jerry was a great guy. ALL proceeds from this raffle will go to Jerry's wife.
Knife Details:
Blade steel: High Carbon 1084
Handle material: Cocobolo/buffalo horn with red liner and 3/16 brass pins
(Sheath is LH and Jerry was a southpaw :) )
Blade length = 3.25"
OAL = 7.75"
Edge is hand done with a Lansky sharpening system and then finished on a leather strop(It is very sharp)
Sheath is handcrafted/hand stitched using 8/9 ounce leather

It would be good to let it go at least one more day. Since it got started last Friday morning, many people may not have seen it yet. I suspect a lot of members don't get online much on the weekends. One or two more week days would likely sell a whole lot more tickets. :dunno:Agreed! Also, sticky's get overlooked easily, so if they aren't to the right in the Recent Topics its easy to miss. I say give it a day or two and lets hit $3K!

I try to have it with me on all of my hunts. A knife is a very personal piece and one that is passed along is even more special.
I'm very fortunate to have found this site and it gives great pleasure to all of us, me included. I'm happy to be in a position to help in Jerry's memory for Cathie.

I want everyone to know that the idea of giving the knife to Cathie is an incredibly selfless thing to do :tup: especially in light of the selfish world we live in today.
I would also like to say that before this raffle ever became a reality, I met with Cathie and discussed this with her. I told her the knife was her's to do with what she willed.
To receive such an out-pouring of love and generosity, is an incredible thing.

Pastor Butch - You did an OUTSTANDING JOB putting the raffle together!!!!! I'm so happy to have contributed to help "Jerry's Lady". Cathie is an AWESOME LADY, and Jerry was really blessed to have her. All of us that can need to be there for her this spring when she scatters Jerry's ashes. I fully intend to be there to support her.
I agree whole heartedly. As time gets closer to the memorial in the spring, I will post a thread for it. Again, I can't thank the people here enough, not just what you've done for Cathie, but so many others.
