Title: good .38 load
Post by: jdb on November 08, 2008, 02:47:05 PM
I am looking for a good all around .38 load. It will be used as a genral purpose load, I am thinking with a 158 grain softpoint, it will be shot in a .357 so warm is not an issue. JB

I just used to shoot the cheapest loads I could find in .38 then use a quality .357 load when it was appropriate.

If you are looking for factory loads Win. & Rem both make a reasonably priced 158gr +P JSHP that performs very well.  Walmart carries them.

For a hand-load I use 5.0 - 5.2gr of Ramshot True Blue for 148 & 158gr bullets.  Very accurate but a bit dirty and not as hot as the +P loads.
