Title: Bowtech picked up Ross? (added pics of new carnivor bow)
Post by: coonhound on November 08, 2008, 07:03:01 PM
I don't know if I'm just out of touch or did Bowtech recently pick up and resurrect the Ross name?  I was just checking out some of the 2009 bows out there and noticed the link at the bottom of the Diamond site.  Their not offering much, just 2 lengths of the Cardiac, looks like they changed the design a bit, new grip and cam, looks like a little bowtech in the cam.  I'm assuming G5 must have had the rights to their original design.  I wonder if they'll try to rebuild the line?

I think bowtech picked up ross quite a while ago, they have had them as a link on their main website for a few months now.

Just seen this on another site, looks like Bowtech is working on some new technology and using the Ross name to market it.  It's called the Ross Carnivor and it's supposed to be built with a 31", 34" and 37" ATA, not sure about any of the other specs.  It says that the harness and wheel works like a block and tackle to make a smooth draw?  They don't have it up on their web site yet, I would be curious to see what it's all about.  It definitely doesn't look like a simple design, that might scare me off.

Well just got done shooting the new Ross bows tonight.  Its a pretty basic design with the addition of a pulley wheel to reduce the draw weight and make for one smooth draw.  I was told the limbs are actually 80lb limbs with reduced draw weight from the pulley system.  I shot the Ross next to the New bowtechs tonight and to be honest the Ross was a much smoother draw and less hand shock upon release.  They are a little slower than the bowtechs.  I like the design of the bowtechs this year though and am probably going to go back to them.
