I haven't posted much this year. Actually I haven't hunted as much this year as I have in years past. I've only been out 4 times this season but have managed to take something home each time and wanted to share. I usually have more success stalking birds - watching where they land and jumping them. Plus I know a coupla holes that usually hold birds. Here are 2 of those hunts.

Nice job

Looks like you had a successful time.
I might be getting back into waterfowl next year as my nephew has been working for a farmer who has lots of property. I have been trying to get him to create some flooded corn.
I have offered to pay for the diesel and seed to hunt it. It is a wait and see... My decoys have not been out of their bags in over 5 seasons.

Jump shooting is always fun. Many times they're not exactly where you thought they were.

What is in the tree? Are they quail, I can't tell.

I've had some really good times jump shooting. Nice

Oh no he is jumping.
Feet are up and water is dripping off him.. Exit stage left.. And just look at the way he has his eye on the camera man. :chuckle:
-
Yeah I don't know :dunno: That drake must know "Bone" is just holding a camera then :chuckle: I'm used to jumping ducks with head arched and shooting straight for the moon when they see me and my 12 ga.

I think the "pose" was, my daughter jumping it out of the small creek eddy into the pond and I had the side angle set up with the camera. There were some woodies holding in there and I had her bird dogging. His eye was catching me and if I remember right it was HARD RIGHT and up!

This one scared the living bejeebers out of me this weekend. A wounded warrior. Held until I was right on top of it, then flushed, obviously hurt. Could swim fine, but couldn't fly. Will no doubt feed the coyotes if another hunter doesn't stumble onto it. It was an aweful big critter to be flushing out from under me.

They're just robins. And, by the time I got close enough for this picture about half of 'em spooked. There were a bunch up there and it was pretty neat.
