Got a Mauser 98 mutt from a local pawnshop chambered in 30-06. I love a good '06, don't misunderstand, this one was purchased specifically for re-barrel. I have since got a replacement sporter tapered barrel, trigger, and stock. The gunsmith that I have used in past projects has called it quits and I don't want to buy tools for this kind of work. Finish reamer and gauges can be rented, but I haven't found a source for barrel vise and proper action wrench.
Does somebody ,have a tip for a local (N.W. Wa.) machinist or 'smith that could unscrew the old barrel and screw in the replacement? The tube that is currently on the receiver will come off easy, that was the last thing the retired guy did for me, so it has a bit of lube on clean threads, not a corroded, decades old GI assembly.

Surely somebody has an action wrench for Mauser or Ruger m77.
I would be happy to drive a bit and pay for this bit of service and tooling I do not have.
