This is matched, non-typical whitetail sheds I've put on here before. I bought a replica skull plate for it. If I did everything correctly and compensating for broken tine length, etc. I think this buck would measure 170-180...I think. ..I know it's tough to tell but what do you folks think?
-
Hard to tell from those pictures but I don't see 170 there.
-
I agree with D, nice buck tho
-
Put ur tape on him and find out.....
-
I taped it at 181. I also have a 140 typical that fits inside of it...
-
Still, very nice examples of sheds I've never found.............
-
This is a 135 inch mule deer for comparison
-
If you put a tape on it than it must be. Hard to see 180 in the pics but if it measures 180 its 180.
-
I was thinking 150 but the pics must be deceiving. Post a pic of the 140 inside or maybe a length on a g2.
:dunno:
-
I cant see more than 150.............nothing is long enough to make 170. :twocents:

:yeah: Or the pics are very deceiving

Again. ..not sure if I measured correctly and some of it is based of a few inches here and there that broke off. It's a 6 x 7 including the drop tine. I didn't deduct anything. I like gross scores. Even if it ended up "only" being 150...I can live with that. This is also no were near the biggest buck I've seen in my area
-
The G3 & G2's are both over 10" & both are broken off. The right one was split (4" fork at the top).
-
My guess is 140-150. I would say no way to 160 let alone to 180. Photos are hard but....

Is that the buck you were asking about the epoxy sculpt about?

It is one of them yes. Like I said. ..I think my measuring technique is way off. I added the (3) widths too. Is that normal?
-
The bigger one may hit 140 + but I can not see it being any bigger ...Epoxy sculpt :dunno: That's some good stuff .... I have fixed some bone using it and it works great

No, you only count the inside spread between the main beams.

No need to remeasure, just subtract the other two width scores you added in. ;)

Speaking of epoxy sculpt....does anyone know were I can get antler molds? I seen a picture of one. So you can match textures of the mold to the horns. Whats a good paint to use? What kind of sealant for the actual bone? Just a clear enamel?

153" GREAT call folks! Im really happy my error was caught. A 153" (assumed) matched set non-typical whitetail sheds is AWESOME to me! I really want to recondition them and mount them to a metal skull. Just need a few more tips on "how-to" from the good folks at HW and I can get'er fixed and mounted!
