Me and my buddies were thinking of making a trip to the potholes and was wondering if it was frozen or how the bird activity was recently.

I was out there 12/7 and 12/8, everything that wasn't moving was frozen solid and the only moving water were the warm springs. It was so cold there were people ice fishing out on Moses Lake. Looking at the historic temps since I've been there, it's hard to imagine anything has thawed at all….. here's a link to the recorded Dec. temps: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KMWH/2013/12/26/MonthlyHistory.html#calendar (http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KMWH/2013/12/26/MonthlyHistory.html#calendar)

I was by there on Saturday , and at least 200 feet off any ramp is frozen.

Drove around the sand dunes area for fun today. EVERYTHING was froze solid. Also never saw a single duck or goose flying. Don't waste your time here. I've heard from a game warden on friday that all the action is around Tricities.

Some buddies of mine hunted Potholes today. Said ducks were rafted up in the middle along with the geese. Ducks avoided land and got elevation right away to out to the fields and return. Geese were moving but they didn't set up for geese. They didn't fire a shot.
