Title: Wanted: ratty old antlers for training my dog
Post by: troyspinetar on December 31, 2013, 04:34:44 PM: Looking for free or cheap antlers to use as training aids. Nothing pretty, gnawed up ones would work just great.

:yeah: Fresh sheds and keep your scent off them......the dog will just run your scent if you handle them with bare hands. Even if you walk out and hide them, he will learn a game where he follows your scent to a prize..........way more to it than a dog learning to play with chewed up horn...I know you know that, but nothing beats dog in the woods work.

Have had my little chocolate lab for two weeks. He loves antlers. His only toy. He really likes the fresh ones. Make it fun for the pup and he will love it for life!!
