I went out last Saturday with my electronic call. Called in two right away and missed twice. After that nothing would come in, even though I could hear them 1/4 mile away. Actually after about an hour two more did circle me but they were high. I could have tried a shot but I thought they'd circle one more time.

Today was the last day of the season so you'll have to wait until September 1st. I sure wish it was open to the end of January like it used to be.

Crows are always the first to arrive when i call coyotes. Havent shot at them before but i have been thinking for a while im going to. Every set with distress calls for 20 minutes followed by pup cries and eventually challenge barks and howls. Crows show up.  I wanna blast them but i dont cuz i want the dogs.

Crap!
I am glad I saw this. I thought it was still open through the end of January. Not sure what I read the other day but I swore it said Jan 31st.

I have been tracking large flocks during late archery deer and was going to go out this evening.

I like my crow braised in a white wine mushroom reduction sauce,  sliced thin served on a bed of fresh watercress and a side of couscous and toasted almond slivers

I seen a show on TV were they cleaned them & cooked them up. I'm sure there would be a couple of videos on You-Tube on cooking crows. If I go crow hunting next year I'll find some one that does trapping and give the crows to them for trap bait. I wonder if they'd work for trapping crab?

I have eaten crow plenty of times.  Goes down bad no matter how you cook it.

I have heard that crow have excellent eyesight, are smart and can tell if a person has a gun.  Probably best to hunt them doing your best sniper impression and use a couple trash bags as decoys or set out an owl.

I love to shoot crow!  Did it many times in North Carolina and it's a blast.

Put me on the list.

Crow are a big problem on duck eggs & ducklings, I've watched them in the spring sitting in a tree and they watch the birds go back to their nestand change their vantage point until they see the nest then when the parent birds go looking for more food the crows swoop right in and rob the young birds from the nest. One time I seen a crow grab a baby pigeon out of a nest under a railroad bridge.
A friend  of mine use to hunt ducks and they guys he hunted with would get out and shoot as many crows as they could to help out the duck population.
They are very keen in their senses and don't forget a trick. I signed up on www.CrowBusters.com (http://www.CrowBusters.com). A nice place to talk with other crow hunters across the country.
