Memory-Filled Idaho Elk Hunt
Confronting Idaho’s steep terrain and high altitude, Gene Barnes—a union machinist (IAM Local 2781)—sets his sights on helping his 74-year-old father, Harlyn Barnes, harvest a bull elk in memory of his late son and the cherished hunting trips the three of them shared together. As the group hikes to 7,500 feet in elevation to a lookout point on day one, Brotherhood Outdoors co-hosts Daniel Lee Martin and Julie McQueen are impressed by Haryln’s sheer determination. You will be too when you tune in.
About The Hosts
\With nearly 50 years of combined worldwide hunting and fishing experience, Daniel Lee Martin and Julie McQueen form Brotherhood Outdoors’ dynamic new host duo, bringing a fresh perspective to season four.
Martin spent his early years picking guitars with his dad and hunting and fishing. Instead of denying his passion for the outdoors to focus on music, he found a way to include all of his passions into what became one of the most successful independent country music careers in Nashville, TN.
Julie McQueen found her way into the hunting industry as a pro staffer. She also made a name for herself in the fashion industry by working in Los Angeles, New York and throughout Europe. She may be the only girl to fly from a photo shoot in France to climb directly into a treestand.
Together, Daniel Lee and Julie brought their passion for the outdoors to the TV screen as the former hosts of Backstage & Backroads with a 100% real approach with viewers. After five successful years on air, they felt compelled to try something new. Providing everyday American workers with outdoor adventures of a lifetime while sharing their unique stories on Brotherhood Outdoors was the opportunity they were looking for.
For Daniel Lee and Julie, the show isn’t just about big horns and monster fish. It’s about the traditions and family ties that bind America’s blue-collar sportsmen together and showcasing the relationships that can be fortified in the woods and on the water.

I just want to give a shout-out to Bear Paw Outfitters on the "brotherhood outdoors" TV show. I saw the show today but I'm not sure of the original date it aired. They did a fantastic job and the story of the hunters was something in it's self. Their story brought tears to my eyes as I also lost someone dear to me as well. Great job and I hope all your clients get the same treatment. I'll be looking into you guys as I plan my next drop camp. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind comments. We did the hunt last fall and it originally aired as the first show of the year to kick off the new season. They are planning to return again this year on another Idaho elk hunt and possibly a Montana whitetail hunt to air next season.
