Good lord Bone..... I have seen that buck before in a couple of your other posts but wow!
-
Been spending my whole life trying to top it. I honestly doubt it will ever happen.
-
Was that a rifle or your stick bow? Bone
-
The reason that buck looks so impressive is that he's a true 34" framed buck. Not 34" gained with a kicker or tines flaring out.
-
It was Archery Special T. Pre stickbow days. Old school Bear bow.
-
Have any field photos Bone

Have any field photos Bone
Pretty sure there is one in the Wash. Book.
-
Nope, pre camera days. My mom took some of me posing with it in my backpack in the yard when I got home, but that's it. One of those is whats in the book I think.
-
There we go, Awesome. There is just something about really wide bucks.
-
Hey Bone, what year did you kill him and what does he score?
-

I would say not to many guys have a 30 inch bucks from any state.. But come on guy i know you want to... go ahead and post a pic.. come on skuckumhntr.
-
Hey Bone, what year did you kill him and what does he score?
1993 and 178 and change.
;) It gives you a perspective of that it takes to be a 190 or even a 200 inch buck.
-
I hope everybody on the forum reads that last post.

Boy howdy.... So do I.

Here is a 33" Washington buck next to a 32.5" Montana buck. To Bone 's point, neither of these bucks net 180 but 30+ spread brings such a wow factor that you'll never pass one up:-).

I was about to tell you how much I liked that pic....but then I saw the purple "W" :bash: :bash: :chuckle: :chuckle:
The bucks are still pretty cool though. :chuckle: :chuckle:

Here's a 32" Washington non typical. Skull was fractured right between the eyeguards and after it was mounted the eyeguards are angled inward. Who knows, maybe it wouldve measured even wider?
-
Any species of deer could have a thread called "heavy horned" or "long tined", but only giant Muleys can have one called show me your "30" spread". I love it! Keep em coming
-
:yeah:this is awesome, congrats to all of you guys as these in my opinion are the holy grail of North American hunting

One of mine from the Methow Valley.

That's exactly right, keep em coming, I have always wanted to see pictures of true 30" mulies only from our state. this has been great.

Holy heavy!!! Congrats Brad! Wish I had something like that to show off.
-
Second one should have went 30 but looks like he hurt it somehow while in velvet.
-
I have a 29.5 shot at Hanford in the 70's but don't know how to put the pic on here. he was a 2x4 and spindly. the sign of an old buck. someday mike w
-
Phool, that buck is legit. What did he score if you don't mind me asking?

-Sorry bud but this thread is for the 30+er's! Maybe somebody will start a under 30" thread to put your buck in! :chuckle:
-
Do what I do, I have a couple 26 1/2ers I thru a spreader between the horns for several months and a few years later they are still holding at 27".
-
You guys suck.... :bash: :bash: How am I suppose to get anything done when all I do is day dream about adding a buck to this thread. One day I will get mine. These are the bucks dreams are made of.
-
I wish I was a talented artist. I'd draw Four of them that got away in the last miliseconds of their life. One was an error by me, one was an error by someone else, and one was nature and one was just good. One thing for sure, even with the best genetics in the world, you don't get to thirty by being stupid.

If I remember right I think there was a good write up and pick of Bones' buck in the Washington Records book, don't know about the latest addition though. :dunno:
-
here is another old pic of him. I was just digging through and sorting photos and this one was in there loose. It took seconds for the word of this deer to travel through town. I had a crowd gathered around for a long time. Not sure my young ego had ever been so big. LOL. I am looking for another buck that was taken by another young man I knew. It was also over 30. One of the best big buck years I had ever seen.
Bare in mind. I am 6'5 and about 245 in this pic.

He's damn close to 30…We'll see after the drying period.
-
That was one of the bucks that came to mind when Deer of the year came up. I love that deer.
-
On the wall pic! Buck on the right is 24 and the one on the left is 26 for comparison. Middle one 32
-
That is a nice wall Skook!!! Damn nice trophy display!

I hope you put a spreader bar between his antlers a bit wider then he is now.
