King 5 coverage in Blaine tonight, unbelieveable!Natives and Asians is what I saw getting rung up and cuffed for undersized and undocumented catch being sold in parking lots and at the backdoors of buisnesses.Footage of 60 undersized crab in a garbage can.
-
That kind of S*** makes me sick.
Way to go guys! Hope you made enough money to get your alcohol fix.

WOW! I am so sick of this type of thing and what will happen? next to nothing! Now what should happen is both wholesale fish companies should be shut down, Fisherman lose right to fish for years and the restaurants should have to pay a fine that would make buying legal crab at market prices feel like they are stealing it.
-
All sportsmen should give an AttaBoy for the Leos putting the smack down on this commercial poaching. In the grand scheme of wildlife regulations this is the worst. :twocents:

Actually what you saw were criminals getting arrested. It doesn't matter what their ethnicity is. They're criminals. They're poachers. And, they got caught. Good for the LEOs who did the bust. Way to go!.

Didn't they just make a bust on the natives in regards to this over the summer as well. Using gps and running a long line of crab traps with no buoy markers? They would drag a hook until it caught the long line and start pulling traps. It must be a good market for crab up there.
-
yes they did H20fowler, and when they brought up the line that they had been watching they also brought up 3 OTHER long lines!
-
True enough piano,true enough,

they need to head over to sequim next, john wayne marina perhaps  awesome job

5-6 bucks per pound,I been on the disabled list so I haven't seen my work buddy who used to fish crab out of Blaine always has the info on price from his freind who still fishes. The opener for the natives the price was 6 bucks per pound, the opener for all others in second place was 4.75.There was a big bust involving canadian fishermen 30 years ago extending groundlines well over the line.My dad had a crab boat in blaine at that time, sold out the whole works in 1983.

Not sure how you come up with it being used to support and alcohol fix...either way, I hate poachers and I hope they get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

He's just making an assumption based on racial stereotyping

Always happy to hear it when some LEO's focus on fighting some real game violations.

Atleast the Asians will get more than a slap on the wrist.

:yeah: Hope it was the same poaching ring that was dumping totes of unsold crab and perch just a few miles south of Blaine.
Now I hope LE will focus more on the sturgeon poaching also. same type of people involved in that too along with a few meth- head white trash

I wish the state had some stroke down on the reservation,I drive the back way to town over the marietta bridge, for over a week now a 70 foot gillnet hasn't moved or been tended,I've made 7 trips to town for physical therapy,it's laid back approximatley 10 foot from the bank funnelling in Native steelhead which should be trickling in now............Derelict river gear, kills alot and keeps killing.I know an older native guy and he's a straight up good guy,he's not in favor with his own tribe because he speaks his mind about river netting being akin to pooping where you eat.His boys are commercial fisherman and he doesn't allow them to fish the river with a net.
