What am I missing?Correct, the lower has to be shipped to a FFL for the transfer. But the transfer fee is usually not high enough to wipe out the savings, at least on this deal. I'm paying 20 for the transfer fee, and even found a place that was 15. The cheapest I will find in town for a stripped lower is about 100. I also added a complete lower build kit including stock for 80. So for 130+ shipping and transfer fee I will have a complete lower. It works out to about 170 with the transfer. But, I also ordered more than one lower so that will make each one slightly cheaper also.

I am wondering if you all could get a bulk load and pay one FFL transfer.
I've heard of FFLs taking a little off for multiple transfers, but still charging for every one.

That gets them off the hook for the "straw purchase" charge. The guy they're transferred to is responsible for handing them off to someone who can't legally own them! :sry:
