That is a Barred Owl. I live out by Alder lake and see them all the time. Just the other day when i left for work during the downpour we just had and there was one sitting on top of a fence post sopping wet. I drove right by him and he didn't care. Cool picture. They make a really cool hoot sound. If you do a search under Barred owl there will be some recordings of there calling if you are interested.

Beautiful, I love owls.  I need more to get rid of the damn voles.  We have a big one (barn I think) who hunts my yard/field at night.

I believe that is a Northern Saw-whet Owl. :dunno:

Well I took another look and I believe you are correct. The two owls are about the same size but the markings are distinct. That is a Saw-whet. Good job! :hello:

I have 1 on ower property that stands about 2 ft tall  He/she is not photogenic....LOL!!  Every time I spot it and it sits there 4ever I then run my butt in the house get the damn camera and get set up!  It freak'n fly's away.  My wife cracks up...LHAO!!  I said next time bird its curtians 4 you!!  LOL!!   I would never.  He/she is so freak,n big and amazing looking. Its my life's job now to get pics of this stupid bird!!
