With a garmin you can get a hunting washington map with landowner names and gmu's.

I replace my 8 year old Magellan Color with a Garmin 62st (save the extra money and just get the 62s) and could not be happier.
Great GPS

Garmin
I have several old and new.

If I were buying a car navigator I would by Magellen.

But for anything out doors Garmin is the best.

Seems like most hunting maps or whatever your looking for is geared up for the Garmin GPS................

They both make good units but there is more stuff for the garmin. Garmin has the crappiest customer service I've ever come across, though.

I replaced a Magellen Sport Trac Pro with a Garmin 62st................no compare.  I use the Garmin way more than I ever used the Magellen.  Much more user friendly.

We've had a ton of fog lately, and I dont think I could have found my way out while shed hunting the last couple trips with out the Garmin.  Deep dark timber and fog to boot..........

I to struggled with the same decision at the beginning of of last hunting season.  I had been running a Magellan for years and loved it.  I too could get a pro deal on Magellan and the price was very tempting.  I ask the same question you did and followed everyone's advise.  I now own a Garmin 62sc and could not be happier.  I really like the Garmin and have no regrets.  My vote is hands down the Garmin....don't spend the money on the "t" versions (62(s)(c)(t**)...the topos Garmin uses are garbage.  You can download free topos that are far better from "northwest topos".

Good Luck.

Get a Rino and get your hunting buddies to buy one. My first handheld was a Magellan - never again will I get anything but a Garmin Rino.

Garmin all the way. When I worked for REI, there was a new Magellan every season and recalls constantly it seemed like. They never held their weight and always had some sort of issue.

I still use my garmin gps12. I love that thing. Locks on satellites fast, it's accurate and batteries last a good while.
