I am surprised how straight the center of mass keeps going.   Love the slow motion video.

I am surprised how straight the center of mass keeps going.   Love the slow motion video.

And I was surprised how well the trocar leaflets tracked, they seemed to be on a straight path with no tumbling or shearing as you would expect. I am sure it would be different through a mixed medium but still pretty neat.

The slow motion ballon was pretty cool.

One of my main issues with it is that none of those shots look like they're fired through denim, or cloth of any type for that matter.  Those petals look so light, probably about 10 grains each, that they would probably have their amazing trajectory disrupted quite a bit when they meet clothing.  And that's to say nothing about how those petals would penetrate, or not as the case probably is, when they meet bone.  I have a hard time believing many, if any at all, of those petals get through a clothing covered rib cage and penetrate deep enough to do any damage.  On any of the "Impressive" shots through glass or plywood on that video, there looks to be the grand total of about 3" of penetration into the gel.  Like I said, it just looks gimiky

I'll take a box of 100 for my G20

The bulk of the slug is continuing well beyond the pedals flaring out.

That would jelly the insides of a dangerous animal, if your aim was a bit off one or two pedals might get in the heart or shred the lungs.

I'd like to see more tests not put on by the producers of the ammo.  Wrap a hog in a leather coat and see what it does.

CEB Bullets has been producing such bullets and originated the concept of multiple peddle detachment on impact years ago. Puuuuft, their a little late but people will buy into it. Barnes manages, why not this trinket.

There are several things.  They shoot R-L which is not the industry standard.  There is minimal permanent crush cavity.  Most fragments only penetrate 5".  As Double J pointed out what happens when it is fired into several layers of clothing?  I think there will be even less penetration.

I want my rounds to stay together as much as possible without massive fragmentation.  If I want stuff to scatter I will use a shotgun.   :twocents:

Looks pretty cool. Lehigh has been making rifle and pistol bullets a lot like this one for about 10 years.

I have some of the Lehigh Maximum Expansion bullets for a couple sub sonic guns. I will be putting them to work hunting this coming year.

I use multiple rounds and stagger them in my magazine already. One for penetration and one for kinetic energy effectiveness. You just don't know what you will face if ever. I like this round. Full metal jacket, one hollow point and then this round. Then repeat. Nice. Kind of like "don't put all you eggs in one basket."  ;)

I carry .357 Sig and use only FMJ and I have no doubt I can get a CNS disconnect.

This is a gimmick and a waste of money :twocents:

I'm listening. And I noticed that comment. But like in summer heat where there is not that much apparel worn wouldn't all that copper spreading across the target be immediately heart stopping?

I know what you are saying. I'm pretty confident with my 45 ACP no matter what I have in it. And right now I only have Federal 185 JHP Personal Defense rounds in it. It's my mini I have staggered.

If you ride the buses in Seattle it wouldn't take long to see first hand what these bullets would do to a scum bag.

What platform are you shooting them out of? I was at the range one day shooting a mini and one of the guys there wanted to sell me a bunch of ammo he bought because they were jamming on him. His gun smith told him to sell his ammo to a mini owner because a mini will shoot anything. That ammo he was selling were steel casings.  :dunno:

The rifle version of the Black Talon was essentially a cross between an old style X bullet and a partition. Solid copper hollow point with a lead core inserted into the shank and a steel plug to hold the core in. I was running them as component bullets in a 338-06 and 338 Win Mag.
