He all, here is a date that you need to set aside. Tacoma Sportsmen's Club will be having the Wet Buffalo 3-D on March 8/9, 2014. Remember camping is free if you are shooting the shoot, so why not make a weekend out of it and take advantage of the camping.

I tell you what, if we can get enough guys together, we can have a coon shoot. We had 10 guys at the coon shoot at iron Amos wich was fun. It would start shortly after dark. Darren , if the wife gave you the 2 day go ahead then drag the trailer down and save the gas.
-
I'll be at a RMEF banquet Saturday night with the wife. Two days ain't going to happen.
-
I hear ya. I need to goto another RMEF banquet , won a rifle at the last one I went to about 10 yrs ago.
-
I've won a muzzle loader and a rifle the last couple of years. Sold the rifle. They are always fun to attend.

Question- for those who aren't entering their score and just want to shoot for fun why can't range finders be used?
-
Question- for those who aren't entering their score and just want to shoot for fun why can't range finders be used?
I've never done a shoot.. but I think just the hassle of designating "rangefinder allowed" patrons vs "not allowed"/these guys can turn in their scores but those guys can't.. kind of a paperwork headache instead of just having everyone on an even playing field.
-
The archery committee decided to not allow range finders at our shoots because when you have people competing for awards everyone needs to be on an even playing field. Example: you have one guy in a group of buddies who is not going to be able to shoot both days but shoots on Saturday. All his other buddies are shooting both days and are in it for an award. Even though the guy with the range finder hasn't told any ranges you have other groups see this person with the range finder, they may assume all the others were told of the ranges , then the finger pointing starts. Another example: group with rangefinders talking out loud about the ranges they are reading and the group behind them hear this, they may have an advantage over the other groups who already shot that target and may get better scores because if it. There are othe examples , but we have decided to just not allow range finders at all our shoots except 1,our wire shoot. And there is a rule that if you are flighted with a group on Sunday and no one calls it out and asks that it be put away in your vehicle the whole group will be disqualified for awards. We have tried a rangefinder division before and had complaints so we opted to keep the shoots rangefinder free as best we can. Hope this helps .

no worries and fair enough on the explanation ... I typically don't shoot both days or turn in results... thanks for the response
-
Good plan. There's always a few that try to bend the rules at the shoots.
Also foam rock on raccoon does not count as points for those who count it. You know who you are. Shots on animal above body line.
-
Yep, legs below body line are out, antlers, and any other part of a target that is foam but not body don't count .
-
I'm not able to make it sat or sunday :bash: :ACRY: :cryriver:
-
Well that sucks, going to try and get a couple guys together to car pool up to your next shoot.hopefully have my new bow tuned up and dialed in by then.
-
Set up for the shoot will be this Friday morning at 7/730am.if your a club member and want to work off some volunteer hours we will see you there.
-
In 48 hours the fun will begin. Are you ready? Also we had a few Wet Buffalo hats made just for this shoot, just $12.
-
A few door prize goodies from shoot sponsor Phelps Game Calls. Thanks Jason.

So my son Brady and I went to the shoot today...Although it rained we had a good time. Enjoy the club,3d shoot and Big Pappas BBQ. Although I never ran into any Hunt WA members. I would have like to meet some of you guys! Next time I'm going to ware a sign on the back of my jacket saying " Hunt Washington member" ..")
I didn't take my rangefinder and ate two arrows (broke one and lost the other because I was off on my yardage). We were shooting with a two sets of families and both were using range finders which I was a bit disappointed to see.. I would have liked to have mine today as I would more than likely would haven't missed. Just trying to follow the rules and shoot for fun.
Brady (4 years old) in action. I'm excited that he enjoyed himself so much.. my future bowhunting and 3d buddy
PS- I set my arrow case down with arrows and broadheads setup so if any one finds them please let me know. Also left a message with the club..

A great shoot despite Saturday's rain. Always have fun at the TSC archery shoots. Great crew putting them on. Thanx to all those that donated their time so the rest of us can have fun. \
By the way, I like what you did with the caribou for Sunday. Very tough shot.
-
Only shot on Saturday but it was a lot of fun. The trails were marked pretty well especially considering the standing water.

Mr Bowpredator - I'd like to see the committee make a decision on the use of smart phones/apps and moveable sights. From what I gather, those using them are simply too lazy to establish and put a yardage tape on their sights but the rest of us have to WAIT behind these folks all the time. Very anoying to say the least. This slows the entire tournament down. My vote is for banning the use of - at least at 3D shoots. Leave your computer at home. Bring your bow.
-
Thanks Guys

Just posted up about 80 pics from the shoot on our Facebook page Tacoma Sportsmen Archery. Check them out, if you shot the shoot you may be there.
