Title: A Step in the Right Direction for my Family, and many Ranchers
Post by: C-Money on January 28, 2014, 03:29:05 PM
A step in the right direction. Its gonna be by luck if you ever catch a wolf in the act of killing livestock, but its a start. I dont feel so helpless anymore, but there is still a long road ahead.

Looks like we will be able to. Gotta report the kill and leave the crime scene alone and not remove the wolf. We have not been hurt to badly....yet. But some of the guys closer to Imnaha have been hurting for a lot of years now.

I met an outfitter from Wallowa that had his mule killed by the wolves a week or two before I talked to him at the Pasco Sportsmans Show in 2011.
I know a cattlewomen out of Creston and she told me 4-5 years ago they had wolves around the Swanson Lakes. I had others tell me the samething.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Washington does something along those lines (I can hope can't I).

I am looking forward to the days of being able to kill a wolf without an investigation. Hope Washington starts moving in a positive direction too.

To many rules.  They should be able to shoot any wolf they see on their ranch.  It's to late if you have to wait for them to mark, kill, bite, claw livestock.

Yes but it's better than being illegal period with the only recourse being trying to get a claim settled with the game dept.
