...killed a few yotes that were pretty clean lookin so. Just on that factor doesn't say a whole lot. Weather it's real or not.

LMAO How come all the wolf "experts" here didn't pick up on that before it became public news? Makes you wonder about all the "documented" wolves on the wolf sighting thread.
-
I guess there are a lot of wild dogs out there that need culling.

Saweeeeeeeeeeeeet.... Hopefully someday we can join in on the fight :yeah:

I think there were quite a few of us that knew the true story. ;)
-
:yeah:
-
well i propose this! its legal to kill deer chasing wild dogs anytime of year correct? well in my book wolves look like shepards and they are chasing deer and elk so when you shoot a wolf it isnt a wolf its a wild german shepard chasing deer and elk  :dunno: ;) ;) way to go colville, wolf or shepard you still saved some wildlife
-
In that article, it says "although tissue samples were taken, the owner verified that it was his and was a dog" so what is that saying that the tissue samples were coming up as wolf? and isn't a wolf considered a type of "dog"?
Either way, the owner is an idiot for not have it collared and letting it run around where wolf hunting is legal, if that is what happened.
-

So what's your point? Is it that we should just assume every one we see is, in fact, a dog and shoot it? Or, do you see no useful purpose for the wolf thread? It was not the forum members who reported the shooting. It was a newspaper. That the newspaper didn't have all the facts before it ran the story has no bearing whatsoever on the members of this forum, unless you contend that most or all of the wolves reported are actually just dogs. Your LMAO is vindictive and also completely unwarranted. You don't like to be labeled as a wolf lover, yet you jump on an opportunity to make those who question the value of WA wolves to look dumb. Some of your posts are intelligent and fairly well-stated, if not naive. This one is petty and sophomoric. What a disappointment.
-
:lol4: I haven't heard "sophomoric" in quite a while. At least it's better than a "being pretty frosh". :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: so is it the same as being a pilgrim or what's the next level? :dunno:
-
.....shark bait perhaps :dunno: :chuckle:
-
How about wolf bait?
-
Gee, I guess I'm sophomoric as well. I didn't LMAO but I definitely LOL'd.... Didn't realize that was "vindictive" of me. :dunno:
Apparently the lesson we all need to learn from this, is that wolf topics are serious, kind of like the Bigfoot topic, and smiling, laughing, and joking around will not be tolerated! No smiley faces either.
To show how serious this thread is every post must end with this: >:(

I believe only the WDFW and can kill dogs chasing wildlife. You are authorized to kill dogs threatening or chasing your livestock but not deer and elk. We had some stray dogs in our area running deer and when the WDFW came out they said they were authorized to take the dogs out but we could only do it if they were chasing our livestock. Don't want anyone to get in trouble for shooting dogs chasing deer, "they were threatening your livestock" is the company line. ;)

I know im just a pilgrim. :chuckle: But i dont understand why the tribe is above federal and state laws and the wdfw gives them the permits to do it. I mean whats next bald eagles, spotted owl, grizzly bear, lynx, hunts for them. I just think the same laws should apply to everyone.Im not no tree hugger.I like to have the chance to hunt wolfs. The more stray dogs they kill the better. :)
-
Hunter399, I think they are able to kill wolves because they are no longer on the endangered species list in the east one third of the state. >:(

I didnt know that i guess u learn something everyday.Told u was a pilgrim lol :chuckle:

They're an independent nation. They manage wildlife on their land as is best for them. And, as Bobcat pointed out, they get no flack because they're in the N. Rockies region that's been delisted.

You asked a pointed question Pianoman, so I'll give you a pointed answer. First off, the picture was posted here before the story came out about it being a dog. Everybody was high fiving the killing of a "wolf". But nobody said "hey, that doesn't look like a wolf". They just accepted the story at face value. The fact that no one called it a dog and it was accepted as a wolf just shows that all the "documented" wolves on the wolf sighting thread are highly suspect as most here can't tell a wolf from a dog, from a large coyote. Peer pressure and letting your prejudices overcome your ability to ask questions and get facts leads to wrong assumptions.
Second, I've seen more sss crap, and smoke a pack a day crap and all kinds of other piling on such as the squirrel emoticon pissing on an idea someone doesn't agree with that it's hard to get excited when one little LMAO gets me called vindictive and sophomoric. Because vindictiveness and sophomoric behavior is definitely the forte of the total anti crowd. And I don't see you calling them on THAT behavior. When I see you call them out for that, I might start worrying how I, getting a real chuckle out of a turn of events, could be construed in a negative way.
And for the record, I think you have a brain and make many good points here.
-
Looks like the one I saw at 25 mile last year on the rez.
-
I have been told by wdfw officers and local sheriffs to shoot dogs running deer or elk on site.

:yeah: This is correct. If WDFW would allow it, we could begin managing wolves in the NE too.
