HHA Optimizer Ultralite or Spot Hogg Hogg Father?

.019 or .010?

Thanks for the help!

I'd check out the black gold ascent 3 pin.  You could set up a 30 40 50 and be covered pretty good for anything inside 60 yds and than dial for anything outside of that just using the top pin as your mark.  I love mine.  Way brighter than the wrapped hogg it I used to use.   With my bow shooting right at 300fps I get a tape out to 140yds.  Be more or less depending on your speed.

Looking for single pin sight as I find with multiple pins I am having a hard time on occasion with truly aiming and focusing on a single spot. I've used a single pin in the past but the pin was huge and meant for short yardage shooting.

Looking for best all-around sight and I'll admit, the longer arm on the spott hogg appeals to me for micro aiming. It's just another $150 more!

Thanks for the help.

Hha ol5500 .010.   This sight has worked well for me.  I set it for 25yds most of the time while elk hunting.  Most the bulls I shoot are between 20 and 30 yds.  If they are not I usually have time to range and adjust.  It helps if your bow is shooting 300fps and faster that way u can set it at 30yds.  If not might consider 1or 2 fixed and 1 movable.

I loved my HHA single pin sight.  I sold it with my bow and now shoot the G5 XR2 which I really like.  It has one fixed pin and on adjustable.  I set the fixed at 30 and the adjustable out to 70.  I keep the adjustable at 50 and pretty much have all I need for hunting.  It took a little getting use to but it is really nice.

Thanks everyone.

I'll have to check out the other sights mentioned. Thanks again for the input.

I've owned both an HHA Optimizer (not the lite) and a Hogg Father. Liked both of them fine. The slider setup on the HHA is a little hincky with a quiver, but the dial would probably be better. The Hogg Father is a sweet site, but pricey and a little heavy. I am rolling with the new Black Gold Pure Driven this year. The "Driven" is the single pin version... I saw one, and really really liked everything about it. From function to fit and finish, it was just very impressive to me, and it is lite weight. The base is like a Black Gold vengance base (true 2nd and 3rd axis and between a 4" dovetail and a 6" inch dovetail in length). Cost is like $259 online (they aren't out until April though, I'm pre-ordering mine). I am 100% with you on the single pin. I converted a few years ago after shooting a wrapped Hoggit Hunter for a long time (and many other multi pins for years before that). I wish I would have done it sooner.

ChadH,
I just checked out the Black Gold site... I found something like you were describing but as you mentioned the sight you mentioned does not come out until April... I'll have to call them tomorrow (Monday). I appreciate your input. I'm looking at the Spott Hogg Hogg Father has an available 6" dovetail which is something I am interested in... can I adjust it to be a bit shorter if need be?

Also, thoughts on the .010 size pins vs the .019's? I am inclined to go with the .010's.

Thanks again.

ERIK
