Title: customizing tikka's?
Post by: bankwalker on November 17, 2008, 02:18:01 PM
ayone ever have any custom work done to a tikka? like bedding the action, new stocks, or barrel and action work?

im thinking about giving the one i just baught to my gf sence she got her first deer with it. and i really want to pick another one up and have some work done to it. id like to get it to around 5 1/2lb (6lbs with a scope if i choose to put one on) with a shorter 20" barrel, bedded action, peep sight.

Any good gunsmith can get all that done for you, no problem.  Just remember, you cut off barrel length, you lose about 1-200 fps per inch.

yeah i know that im just wanting to make a nice lightweight brush gun.

tikka use to make a t3 they called the "big bore" came with a 18" or 20" barrel and in 308, 30-06, 300wsm. but i cant find it anywhere now and i really wanted one last year. and now after finally owning a tikka it makes me want it even more.

loosing a half poulnd off of my tikka right now with a shorter barrel would make my dream brush gun. but its a 270 so that caliber wont work for me.
