so my thought is this guy is a 1.5 year old. MAYBE... but just MAYBE 2.5. look at his body. anyway, here where this pic was taken a 4x4 1.5 year old is pretty common. anyway, what do you guys think, what would you think if you couldnt see the antlers? i think hes a 1.5 year old with potential to be something really special in a few years. this is in a spot ive been feeding and getting pics of bucks for a few years and this is first time this guy has shown up. looks like an almost fawnlike body with a 6x5 junky rack to me but ive been wrong before, especially when im drinking. looking for a common concensus. thanks

Do you have any day time pictures side pics?
The flash and angle have him 5 years younger instead of 10 pounds heavier....
Without the antlers I am with you on under three years old.
BUT.......
With the kicker at the base and the mass on the right it makes me think he may be an older deer that has lossed wieght during the winter or even on the way down.
Need more pics.... :chuckle: :chuckle:

Judging by his snout, belly, back, and and seemingly long legs I would say young buck. But I'm far from an expert....

2.5 probably, 3.5 possibly would be my best guess

didnt get any daylight pics. and took the cam down right after he showed up. got one more night pic here, but its kinda same angle so not much help. ill agree that this buck could be 2.5, but i dont see him being 3.5 at all. just looks like such a little dude. hopefully ill get another few years of pics of him to see what happens. heres the other one i got before i took cam down.

2.5 has such a span of sizes. Some are really spindly at 2.5 and some are like 90"
I want to think that he's a 1.5 yr old buck but that mass makes me think otherwise, I'm guessing 2.5. Either way he'll be a good buck at 4.5...though I would send an arrow his way next year probably :chuckle:

I'd say 2.5 but unless your on private property or somewhere your confident he won't get shot I'd take him next year or someone else will

I am saying 2.5 years old as well based on shape of head, lack of arch in back, no sagging belly and over lean proportions.

in the middle of a lot of private property nobody else hunts. deer grow old here. unless a cat gets them or something.
