I have a 2012 F-350 with the 6.7l diesel engine, I have almost 14,000 miles on it and it has ran flawlessly so far. I know Jakelope works for a Ford dealership so hopefully he will chime in. I have a message that pops up on the dash that says to check the coolant additive. Is this something that I have to have the dealer do? Or can I buy the test strips and do it myself. I think I have read that it needs to be tested in two spots but not sure.
Thanks!

I have the same truck and my coolant additive message came up at 14,000 miles also last month. The dealer stated that the message is based on mileage only and not the additive. Also stated that they have never had any vehicle need an additive in that few miles and to reset the message and they would check it with the next service if I desired.
Hope that helps,

Ya my 2011 did it at 14k as well. Reset it on your dash. Still have under 15k on my truck. I love these new diesels!!!
